Peaceful, Tranquil, RELAXING!

5 of 5
Harold's Cabin was the perfect place to get away and relax. Particularly in the winter, the cabin is pretty isolated, so you really feel like you have time to THINK! The fireplace keeps the cabin at a perfect temperature, and the bed is extremely cozy. I loved the little touches that Kathy left: the cinnamon tea, coconut body wash, the local information (you can tell she knows the area!). Within a short drive, you can get into town (Don's Drive-In is close, and the food is terrific!). Downtown Traverse City was about 30 minutes for me, and this was under pretty bad road conditions. It was awesome to experience Traverse City in the winter; it was quiet, but everything was open. I went to the Bayou Theatre, which I strongly recommend -- the staff is extremely nice and welcoming, and the theatre is adorable and cozy. Also drove up to the Old Mission Lighthouse, about an hour drive in the weather, but so worth it! Along the way, you will drive next to the Bay and pass vineyards and road stands selling cherries, syrup, etc. Overall, a wonderful experience - can't wait to return in the summer!

Great Cabin!!

5 of 5
My family and I loved this cabin in the woods! The lake is quiet and my son caught some fish that he is still talking about. The cabin has a rustic feel (knotty pine in the kitchen) and it was very clean and well maintained. We didn't know what to expect but feel like we found a gem and plan to return next summer. We loved the screened-in porch and the fire pit! we will be back!

Peaceful and Relaxing

4 of 5
Our family had a great time at the Buckles cabins. The teens loved the use of the kayaks and canoe and we felt very safe with them paddling out to the island. We have stayed on Spider Lake before and we love being close to TC. We kayaked the Platt River and visited the casino, both were close drives. Campfires completed each night and was very relaxing. But the fire pit was so far away and the stairs were not fun at night time. Fishing was good even though we didn't catch anything till the last day! Glad we had the pontoon boat to cruise around the lake, we caught a 34" monster pike! The deck was very large and spacious, we spent most of our time there! Thanks Shawn for a great relaxing week.
