We are formerly from Grand Rapids and chose The Gardens because it was a short drive to be with old friends and great golfing. Our friends were amazed that we had found such a warm, beautiful place, so elegantly furnished with original artwork, designer touches We arrived at The Gardens and were pleasantly surprised. It was more than we expected. throughout and a kitchen well stocked for cooking.
The Lily felt like home after the first day. We stayed for the month of September and hated to leave, it was so comfortable. Very well represented in the ad, immaculate, beautifully decorated, everything we needed, and Leslie was very helpful with getting us settled in. The gardens were very relaxing, I love gardening and could not get enough of the historic gardens with the sheltered private areas for enjoying friends and breakfast with just the two of us.
We walked to the beach for the sunsets which were amazing. We visited Oval Beach a must for all visiting the area, Mt. Baldhead and the little town of Douglas. We ate at Everyday People and Wild Dog Café and loved the charm of both of eateries. We went to the Holland Farmers Market every Saturday morning and left with bags filled with great eats from local farmers. We went to Fennville for Crane’s cider, pies and pumpkins (picked by us).
We have already booked The Gardens for next year, we consider this “home away from home”.
