Wonderful lakefront retreat

5 of 5
Enjoyed a relaxing holiday weekend at this beautifully decorated luxury lake home. The expansive windows and home elevation allow for a view of-the lake from sunrise until evening. The large indoor open living space allows for entertaining and family dining and the gourmet kitchen is a real plus. Outside is great for boating, swimming, fishing and evening campfires. Would recommend for large family gatherings or a restful vacation getaway. Will be back!

Comfortable vacation home!

5 of 5
My husband and I rented the house for our family over graduation weekend. The house was great - they were completely comfortable there. It took them about 30 minutes to get into Ann Arbor for graduation, but it was well worth it. The house had everything we needed for the weekend, including everything from a gas BBQ, fire pit, and lots of serving plates to multiple kayaks and a row boat. It felt like home. While staying at the house, we visited downtown Brighton and, in the past, I've been to Island Lake Park. Brighton is a really nice, picturesque town with good restaurants. Island Lake Park is full of biking and running trails. The listing is accurate about the location , amenities, etc. The property was clean and well-maintained. The owners/managers, Dee and Jerry, were very nice and welcoming. I enjoyed the tour of the house they gave. I would definitely recommend the property to a friend. There are two small things I want to point out. First, there isn't really a lawn. The house is situated above the lake, so don't plan on playing Bocce Ball or anything like that. Second, there were lots of flying insects - they didn't bite, but insect repellent might be a must later in the summer. The latter is likely a problem at any lake house in the lower peninsula.

Our Temporary Retreat

5 of 5
We stayed in this rental after having a devastating pipe burst in our home. We loved this rental so much that it was hard for us to return to our home. The rental is meticulously decorated and fully stocked. It was our oasis away from our worries. We know the neighborhood well, so we knew it would be a great temporary housing option for us. There is plenty nearby… great restaurants within walking distance (Big Rock, Griffin Claw, and Whistle Stop). As well as, a very short drive to downtown Birmingham (5 minutes at most), which is a quaint walkable downtown with a lot of restaurants, bars and shopping. You can visit the Birmingham downtown website at: http://www.enjoybirmingham.com/ There are a variety of grocery options nearby too…Kroger, Target, and Whole Foods. You will not have to go far to stock up the pantry if that is what you prefer. If you are looking for shopping, you can visit downtown Birmingham or go to Somerset Collection, which is a high-end shopping center also located within 5 minutes driving distance. You can find a link to the wide array of shops and restaurants at Somerset by using the following link: https://www.thesomersetcollection.com/ For exercise options, there is a home gym in the rental, but if you prefer to venture out you will find plenty nearby including your big franchise-type gym (L.A. Fitness), small trainer-focused workouts at RPM Birmingham (http://www.rpmbirmingham.com/), outdoor and indoor tennis courts (http://www.birminghamracquetclub.com/ ) , and an ice arena (http://www.bhamgov.org/icearena/). I felt the stress of our burst pipe situation slip away while I was staying at this rental. I did not need to worry about packing toiletries, linens, or kitchenware, as everything was already fully stocked. My two children LOVED all of the TV options (pretty much 1 in every room), and they even tried out the home gym equipment. I would rent this unit again, and highly recommend it to anybody. It is a great option for extended family visits, as it is spacious and convenient. Then rental agent was very accommodating and empathetic to our situation. I knew I was going to be a challenge to pack up my entire family at the end of our stay by myself, so she gave me until 5 pm the day of check out to move out. I appreciated her flexibility and understanding.
