This unique cottage is situated along a beautiful, quiet stretch of the lake between South Haven and the Saugatuck/Douglas area. It's a short drive either direction to plenty of activities, restaurants and shopping without all of the hubbub of being right in town. The neighboring homes are close enough by that you don't feel secluded but far enough away that you have plenty of privacy and quiet. We especially enjoyed sitting at the picnic table on the bluff overlooking the lake, while we watched the sunset, listened to the waves curl in and sipped our drinks. The cottage is interesting architecturally. It is a hexagon with huge windows overlooking the lake, beautiful interior exposed wood and appointments that cross over from rustic to modern. The photos and description accurately represent the property. The cottage was clean and well-maintained. The kitchen is well-equipped and the common areas are very spacious. The sleeping areas and bathrooms are on the small side but very functional. The shower stalls are angled in such a way that a shower curtain is not absolutely necessary, but it would have been nice to have one anyway. Guests need to supply their own bed linens and towels, which we didn't mind doing. There were plenty of paper products like toilet paper, tissues, paper towels, and coffee filters. There is a small, but interesting assortment of games, puzzles, books, movies and CDs. The owner provided recommendations for local restaurants and shopping which were all spot on. We planned our fall getaway very last minute and the owner was very accommodating with letting us stay on short notice. I would recommend this property to a friend or relative.
