We stayed here summer 2014 found the property very quaint and historic easy access to beach beautiful sunsets and overall a wonderful experience. Great customer service property clean and well maintained. Quick easy drive to Pentwater for shopping and dining on rainy days. Brian and Beth

Beautiful, peaceful setting

4 of 5
Great little cottage. Quite spacious, well maintained and tastefully decorated. Once you hit US31 the drive is also peaceful. Very nice tree lined street when you arrive giving a very quaint cottage ambiance. Coming through the door you arrive to a clean cottage with two door walls opening to a nice deck facing the lake. Trees keep it shaded from the hot sun and the lake breeze pours through the windows. Lake is all sports, but very tranquil with little use by residents or visitors. Everything you need is provided for including a nice propane grill on the deck. There is a nice 4-seater paddle boat and a single seater kayak. A small wood dock allows for easy loading. There is also a very nice swimming platform about 30 ft out in 6-7ft of water. Water is clean and refreshing with little to no weeds. Temperature of the water was perfect, not too cold or overly warm. The shower is a great size and even has a small bench. The well water is clean, does not have an odor, and is not too hard/soft. Towels and sheets are all updated, clean, and in good shape. Cell phone reception is excellent. Fishing is pretty good and we caught a few small bass. Overall, a great place that provides a very enjoyable vacation. Owner is very kind, approachable, and easy to contact with questions. While no place is perfect, we plan to rent this cottage again next year. You cannot help but fall in love with the gorgeous lake setting. A few cons, but by no means take away from the good experience: -Furniture is slightly beat up, but certainly acceptable. -Television is extremely small and while we were there got zero channels (bring some DVDs) -Canoe is listed for use but is not there. -Walkout basement is musty, though a dehumidifier is on-site.

Honeymoon get away!

5 of 5
This was a wonderful and clean cottage with spectacular views to go with it. My wife and I watched the sunset every night from the upper deck, the weather was perfect! When we first arrived we noticed how clean this cottage was and the amount of space there is to relax and cook. The kitchen was fully stocked with any cooking utensil you could need, living room was very comfy and the bathrooms were big enough to fit both of us. This cottage has the perfect location and I will recommend it to my friends and family and I will rent this property again in the future.Who knows maybe a 1st year anniversary trip will be in store for the Meffert cottage. P.S. Doreen was very friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay.
