This place is fantastic!! Fantastic place!

We are a family of nine. Our girls range in age from 4 to 14. Talk about family memories!! Your sandy beach and swimming area was a great time for all of us. Canoeing, kayaking and paddle boating anytime, everyday, we had a blast. The fishing was fantastic (BIG bass, BIG pike) and tons of sunfish and perch off the docks and shore. Every night we had a bonfire... just watching that smoke drift over the top of the pine trees was so relaxing. I knew it would be beautiful, but I was amazed with how comfortable and spacious the lodge was. There is a cozy living space with a large fireplace. The kitchen is huge (very well stocked) and there was plenty of space for everyone to sleep. This is a relaxing and beautiful cabin for rent. Do your family a favor and escape to Charlie's Poplar Lake Lodge.

            Unbelievably Beautiful

            4 of 5
This place was just what the doctor ordered. Our family needed a break from the distractions and stresses of every day life, just to enjoy each other and spend time together. I wanted my children to have room to play outdoors and explore nature. This place was perfect. We explored the river and its creatures (the river is shallow enough to play and wade across). We saw at least one bald eagle each day - talk about majestic! At night, after hiking, picnicking and playing we sat around the campfire roasting marshmallows, star gazing (amazing stars, we saw the milky way!) and listening to coyotes and even wolves serenade us. It was magic for us and our children. The cabin was very clean and tidy. The kitchen was well-equipped and I was easily able to cook for my family throughout our stay. While it's not a luxury cabin, it's very comfortable and we had no complaints. We didn't go there for the sheet threadcount or to be pampered. The managers and cleaning lady (who will meet you at the cabin) were wonderful and helpful, pointing out where to spot wildlife, how to use the propane lamps, etc... We went to find some peace and quiet and we found that by the bucketful.

            Escape Life

            5 of 5
My family has enjoyed this wonderful lodge two times now and will continue to return. Eight adults and seven children, two of them infants, managed to survive a week and have a blast! It is an amazing place away from the hectic city life we call normal. The noise of the river lulls you to sleep and the light show in the midnight sky is amazing. The great kitchen allows for some wonderful meals, should you feel inspired, and the master suite that overlooks the river offers maximum relaxation and romance. There is plenty of room to roam and stretch out. Enjoy bonfires, a read by on the deck, fishing, a kayak ride down the river, cocktails during sunset, volleyball in the side lot- I could go on and on! A truly wonderful place for a family reunion or "big chill" weekend! The owner was great to deal with and very helpful, the house manager, was equally as nice and helpful when it came to issues such as hot tub maintenance.
