        Quiet and scenic vacation spot

        4 of 5
We drove down D lane to arrive at the property while towing our boat. DON'T BRING A TRAILER DOWN D LANE. There is no room to turn around. After much difficulty we got the truck turned around and proceeded to the ramp. I paid an extra fee to leave my trailer at the ramp all week (which was completely worth it). After getting the boat in the water we started our vacation. This is a nice cottage. Nothing fancy, but it had just about everything we were looking for. We caught plenty of fish (mostly bass and bluegill) and had lots of fun in the water. Tubing, skiing and swimming are great on this lake. The water is extremely clear. The property manager said the dock will be replaced by next year. It is a little worn (bring your own bumpers) but it was safe enough for us. The sunset is great from the backyard, but it would have been better with a fire ring. It rained for 2 days of our stay which gave us a chance to find a laundromat in Jackson and use the DVD player. We had a good time. This is hard to beat for the price.

        Cozy escape

        4 of 5
The house was very clean, comfortable and well insulated (it was VERY cold in Michigan that week.) Excellent view of the lake and winter sunrises. The owners were very accommodating and friendly, but not intrusive (they live across the street.) It is at least 15 minutes from just about anything, but only about 20 minutes from Ann Arbor. Be aware that there is no internet, spotty cellphone service, and no cable for the TV; we didn't mind terribly for our four night stay, but some people might. The house is very well supplied with video tapes, games and puzzles and children's toys. We had a very pleasant, relaxing time, which is what we were after.
