Breathtaking View/Extremely Affordable!

5 of 5
I am hesitant to write this review only because I want this place to stay a secret!! First, Gary and Julie (whom we met personally) are extremely helpful/kind. They let us keep our bikes in their garage and offered their driveway along with a parcel of land across the road for our vehicle and our trailer that held our kayaks! Their rate is super affordable which left us more money to do excursions! (as I will list below) The apartment is clean, nicely decorated and spacious enough for the 6 of us. (having a dining room connected to the kitchen was an added bonus!) Now for the view....if you love sunsets, this is your place!!! It is directly across from Sunset Park. (no need to say more!) Also, in Sunset Park you will find wooden steps down where you will be surprised to find a little waterfall along with Bayfront Park. Here, you will also find access to the Little Traverse Wheelway which is a 26 mile bike path which runs from Charlevioix all the way up to Harbor Springs! (some of the path runs close to the lake which is beautiful) Now, for a few suggestions on what to do while here (from our personal experience): *Wildwood Rush Ziplining in Boyne City......Fly thru the trees, walk on 5 suspended bridges and see awesome views from the tree tops! *Avalanche Preserve in Boyne City.....walk the 462 steps (I managed even though I am not the most fit person!) to the top (bring a picnic) where you can see the city and Lake Charlevoix! *Boyne Parasail in Boyne City......awesome, professional, breath-taking....!! *Borchers in Grayling.....we kayaked for 4 hours on the AuSable River....peaceful *Big Bear Adventures in Indian River (located directly across from Burt State Park).....we kayaked for 3 hours on the Sturgeon river which is known as the "fastest flowing river in lower Michigan" but very challenging for 3 hours but there is also an hour and a half option if your not a dare devil! *Mackinac Island ...... take a 16 minute ferry ride from Mackinaw the flat 8 mile bike path around it and for sure go to the Butterfly House on the island where there are ALOT of different types of butterfly's. If your lucky, one will land on you! (don't forget your camera!) I would recommend this rental to friends and family in a heartbeat! We are already planning on staying again next summer! My hubby and son ski at Boyne Highlands and Nubs Nob and plan on staying here if available! Thanks Gary & Julie
