            Our Stay at Windsong

            5 of 5
Rating Details: I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Windsong cottage! The house was very clean and well maintained and was a great fit for our family of 7. The master bedroom was huge and the rest of the rooms were plenty big for sleeping at least 2 people. Our kids had fun going up and down on the spiral staircase! The cottage came equipped w/wifi and direct tv, and we enjoyed using both when we couldn't be down on the beach. The dishwasher needs to be fixed or more likely replaced. It is very difficult to get to turn on. Upon advice from the management company, we ran it w/out the heat button pushed, but it still took several attempts and a lot of frustration before we finally were able to get it to respond! The upstairs bathroom is split up into two areas. The main part held the sink and shower. Across the hall, inside what looks like a small closet, is the toilet. No big deal, just kinda funny! We ran out of TP about 4 days in and had to purchase our own. Maybe having more rolls in stock would be helpful! It is located on Lake Michigan and the view is amazing! It is 90ish steps down to the beach. At the bottom of the stairs, there are some cinder blocks stacked up as make-shift "stairs" to get you the last few feet down to the beach. We managed, but it wasn't easy and, unless you are very agile, it took someone or something to hold on to for balance to make it the rest of the way. I'm not sure if that is the way it is because of the instability of the sand making it difficult to get actual stairs to work at this point, but if it would be possible to build a small set of stairs that are more easily managed, that would be helpful. That being said, it didn't diminish our enjoyment of the beach in the slightest! All in all, it was an awesome week made even better by our accomodations and the view! We plan to do it again next year!
