Stunning Home with even better location

5 of 5
The home was spotless and had more amenities than anyone could need for a Northern Michigan getaway. Very rustic without sacrificing luxury. The home was very secluded with a balcony that sits you right in the tree tops with room for my whole family to enjoy. The river behind the house was very scenic and relaxing. The best part was all this seclusion is 5 minutes from town and only half hour from Petosky and Mackinaw, making it very convenient to be so close to shopping, dinning, and the Great Lakes. In conclusion, there was plenty of space for the family with lots of activities, scenery, and only a short drive to major cities. The home was able to meet all of my family needs. It will be a no brainer for my family and I to stay here again.

Terrific find in Harbor Springs

5 of 5
We needed a place in Harbor for our family to gather for the holidays, and this house really pulled through for us. Much larger than it appears online, with beautiful updates throughout, the house exceeded our expectations in just about every way. My 2 brothers and I all brought our families, and there was plenty of sleeping space for all 6 adults and 4 kids -- including a cozy guest cottage where my newlywed brother and his wife could escape our toddler racket. The living and dining room areas are huge and open-plan, connecting to the kitchen via a large island that became the focal point of our family gatherings throughout our stay. The kitchen is large and very functional, with all the cooking and cleaning gadgets you'd expect. If I had to point out a shortfall to the house, it would be that the bathrooms are small, but that's really a function of the fact that this is at its core an old Harbor Springs cottage; the work that has gone into additions and updates over the years has really improved the livability of the space while preserving its original charm. Outside, the house has an enormous deck and backyard looking out onto a wooded creekbed -- so that, in addition to room for kids to play football, you get a good sense of the Michigan north woods, even though you're in town. Geographically, if you're looking to be in town, you can't really beat this location. The house is up on the bluff overlooking the harbor and Little Traverse Bay, and while it's a short block back from the bluff itself (any closer and the rent would have to go way up), there is a partial water view from the master bedroom, and you only have to walk about 30 seconds to see the whole panorama -- easily one of the best harbor views in the country. The neighborhood is upscale and quiet, easily within walking distance to downtown, although you do need to be ready to climb back up the bluff. Needless to say, from Harbor you have great access to skiing, hiking trails, beaches, boats, golf, shops and restaurants in Petoskey, etc. The owners were very thoughtful and went out of their way to make sure we would be comfortable -- from putting up holiday decorations to having a good stash of coffee ready for us on arrival. We couldn't have been happier with this house and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Great Home!

5 of 5
Our group of four hunters stayed for the rifle opener and found the home to be very comfortable! The home was large enough to fit all of us comfortably, and our hunting gear. The beds were very comfortable, and each bedroom had its own TV. Kitchen was well stocked, and the dining / living room areas were very nice as well. Only complaint was with the coffee maker/microwave. The coffee maker was small and leaked while filling with water. A regular coffee maker would be nice, especially when waking up at 5:00 AM to go hunting. Would definitely recommend staying here and would like to return in the summer!
