Very peaceful, tucked away, and beautiful!

5 of 5
We arrived at the property from Chicago very late on a rainy Friday and were immediately greeted by Rokko, who took the time to show us our cabin and then offered to take us on a tour of the property the following morning. Rokko was very accommodating and the cabin was great - nice, big bed and a fireplace - perfect for chilly nights. The next day the clouds broke and we were able to take a walk down some of the trails (cool mushrooms everywhere!) and even take a canoe trip along the beautiful "chain" of small lakes. We will definitely be coming back next spring/summer - but we will be sure to stay for a week instead of 2 days! Highly recommended for a quite, affordable getaway!

Little Slice of Heaven

5 of 5
We had all looked at the pictures online, but upon arrival we were all blown away. The cabin is BEAUTIFUL!! Everything was clean and tidy. There were no complaints from anyone in our group. We had 10 people and there was plenty of room for all of us to enjoy the cabin. The lake is beautiful and there were some awesome sunrises and sunsets. The lake overall is pretty secluded. There are about 6 to 8 houses/cabins in a row right beside this place, but there are hardly any others around the lake. There is one house right beside and on the other side there is an empty lot. We did a lot of ATV riding and there is access to all of the trails pretty close to the cabin. Any questions that I had I emailed Mike and he was always very quick to respond. I would absolutely recommend staying here!!

Unique and Wonderful Northwoods Experience!

5 of 5
We were looking for a last-minute peaceful Northwoods cabin that would accept pets, and Trick's Retreat was perfect! The description and photos in the listing are very accurate, booking was easy and correspondence with the property management was exceptional. The 1950's cabins are very cozy and well-appointed with amenities, yet rustic enough to provide a real nature getaway. The retro vibe in the Yellow Cabin was homey and relaxing, you could almost picture a '57 Chevy in the driveway. Birch Lake is beautiful with crystal clear water and awesome sunsets. Very nice deck and campfire area. No TV a big plus! We enjoyed reading, crocheting, listening to music as well as watching the birds at the feeder, waterfowl on the lake including a loon and a sandhill crane, deer that crossed the drive each night, squirrels and owls. Lots of hiking and outdoor opportunities, plus Farmers' Markets, orchards, unique shops, and excellent restaurants nearby. Did not want to leave, and sure will be back!
