ALREADY BOOKED FOR NEXT YEAR

5 of 5
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at this Cross Village Cottage. The cottage has been fully remodeled and is conveniently located to explore everything from Charlevoix to Mackinaw City. Lake Michigan is a shore walk across the road. The Port of Cross Village offered beautiful sunsets. It is also a short hike to Leggs Inn. And, don't miss the Good Hart General Store--they offer everything from U.S. Postal Stamps to property (it really is the Post Office and a real estate office) with good conversation and food. Wilderness State Park, the lighthouse, and the International Dark Sky Park are must see sites. But once you arrive at the cottage you will not want to leave---it is as advertised: comfortable, well appointed, room for the whole family and more. With plenty of gathering space to enjoy. Can't wait to return for a weekend this Fall to enjoy the color. Great job Mike we hope to return often.

A SUMMER REVIEW

4 of 5
There was 5 of us and we loved the view, the wild turkeys, the horse farm and riders. The house has great views, comfortable beds, great decor, was very clean. We had a James Bond marathon each night after coming home from playing golf or tourist in the greater northern MI. Great TV and surround sound. We had a honda pilot and a toyota prius, since was summertime we both could make it up the drive and around the house with no problem. If have more vehicles or don't want to drive on the sandy driveway you can park at the end of the blacktop and walk in. I can see in the winter you would need a 4wd or all wheel drive if there is snow. Gary is wonderful to work with and in his contract he mentions the high mineral content in the water. Beware: take your own drinking water for drinking, making coffee etc, the sulpher and iron content is high in the water. I would have given this place 5 stars but I can't recommend using the clothes washer since the minerals will stain your clothes, one of our friends find out the hard way, you will notice it on the towels. There is a laundry mat across from Glen's Market. We recommend Short's Brewery, Toonies, The smokehouse and Moka's in town. Over on Torch Lake is Docksides, typical bar type food but neat place to seat outside. The area is mainly golf, mountain biking, hiking and boating/kayaking in the summer. If get a chance travel a short distance to visit Traverse City and Charlevoix. If want to find petoskey rocks go to Fisherman Island State Park just south of Charlevoix.

BEST SKI VACATION HOUSE

5 of 5
We just returned from a fabulous ski vacation at Shanty Creek, and one of the best things about our trip was where we stayed. We loved, loved the chalet! It truly felt like our home away from home and not at all like a rental. The chalet is new and well-kept. There are flat screen TVs in every room, and DVD players in all but one. And while the TVs in the bedrooms and den are small, we hardly noticed. There is also a big DVD collection with something for everyone. For a winter vacation, the attached garage was a godsend and having a full laundry room was tremendous. We were a party of 6 adults and 1 teenager, so there were plenty of beds. We could have slept 3 more in beds and then there was the pullout in the den and then many other foldout options. There were also tons of blankets. The chalet stayed nicely heated, and we never ran out of hot water. And one of our favorite things about the chalet was the outdoor fire pit. We had a gathering one night for friends and family, and it was a big hit. The one thing that the chalet doesn’t have is an indoor fireplace, and while it would be a nice addition, we didn’t really miss it. In short, the property was as described above and better. We all loved it! We hope to stay at the chalet again on our next visit!
