Our Honeymoon!

5 of 5
There don't seem to be the words to adequately begin to express how amazing this home and its setting are!!! We spent a couple of days and 3 nights at the cottage, definitely not enough time. We were warmly greeted by Evan, who is the son of this great father-son endeavor. He was a wealth of information about Traverse City and very helpful regarding things that we should see while in the area. He was also most-willing to help us out with kayaking, since there were kayaks on the property (unfortunately, we ran out of time to go kayaking). Evan had also prepared a beautiful basket for our honeymoon that included champagne and all sorts of great goodies. This was in addition to the GREAT bottle of complementary chardonnay that was chilled and waiting for us!! The house was so comfy and beautifully appointed. Regardless of the room we were in, there was an amazing view to be taken in! The hot tub came in really handy after we spent a couple of our days doing some great hikes. Speaking of hikes, you don't even need to leave the property to take in an amazing hike! Our trip was blessed with great weather and amazing fall colors, which made for some incredible pictures. Wayne & Evan, we could never adequately thank you for making our honeymoon so incredibly special!!! We are so blessed to have found your cottage; it was the icing to a blessed marriage!!!

Just perfect!

Thank you so much for such a great vacation! This is our 6th year as an extended family and our best yet! We had plenty of space for family dinners, movie nights, bonfires and pack-and-plays :) The weather couldn't have been better! It really is like having your own private lake, it was so peaceful and quiet. The cottages were well stocked with linens and bath towels and well as kitchen accessories. Thanks again for such a great time, we look forward to next year! PS. the side room was a fantastic location to set up our dog cages! Pet owners dream!!!

One of the most amazing weeks I have ever had!

5 of 5
Nestled at the end of a dirt road, Wellington Cottage turned out to be the ideal getaway for the week. I stayed there with several of my friends from boarding school, as we were up north for the Interlochen Arts Academy 50th reunion weekend. The property was used to it's fullest extent. I threw a HUGE party for alumni at the cottage and there was plenty of parking, benches, tables, and chairs for sitting. The fire pit was in use every night, and the tree house and merry go round made us feel like kids again. Linda provided enough linens and towels that not only did the people scheduled have ample provisions, unexpected over-nighters were not left in a lurch. Plenty of places for people to nap or sleep at night. The kitchen had more than enough tools and cookware for our week. The screened in porch was a wonderful place to sit for breakfast on the rainy Sunday morning and then we threw on our bathing suits for an afternoon dip in the lake. Low and behold, there were two kayaks, a row boat, fishing equipment, and an inner tube for us to enjoy in the shed! The loons calling at night and the stars topped everything off brilliantly. The deck just off of the main room was large but we were disappointed not to be able to use the hot tub, the heating element was broken. I highly recommend this property for anyone to use, small or large group, this is a wonderful, well cared for cottage getaway. My friends and I are already planning another trip up for next year.
