Summer or Winter- the perfect vacation spot.

5 of 5
As soon as you pull down the driveway and the trees give way to the open setting on the lake, you know you are in for a very special vacation. What makes Pine Place so wonderful is that you have activities for all. We were able to spend the day on the lake kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming and then enjoying the oversized hot tub before playing games of shuffle board, ping pong and horse shoes. The following day golf was on the agenda. The best thing for our family was that everyone had something to do, yet Pine Place is also a great spot to just relax and "do nothing." Beautiful sunsets end a day of sitting by the lake with a great book. The cottages and grounds are meticulously maintained and the owners ensured that we had all we needed for a great vacation. As soon as we got home, we began planning for a winter vacation at Pine Place, Fire pits, snowmobiles and snow shoes await. We are really looking forward to going back to Pine Place on the Lake and experiencing this very special spot in the winter.

Our Honeymoon!

5 of 5
There don't seem to be the words to adequately begin to express how amazing this home and its setting are!!! We spent a couple of days and 3 nights at the cottage, definitely not enough time. We were warmly greeted by Evan, who is the son of this great father-son endeavor. He was a wealth of information about Traverse City and very helpful regarding things that we should see while in the area. He was also most-willing to help us out with kayaking, since there were kayaks on the property (unfortunately, we ran out of time to go kayaking). Evan had also prepared a beautiful basket for our honeymoon that included champagne and all sorts of great goodies. This was in addition to the GREAT bottle of complementary chardonnay that was chilled and waiting for us!! The house was so comfy and beautifully appointed. Regardless of the room we were in, there was an amazing view to be taken in! The hot tub came in really handy after we spent a couple of our days doing some great hikes. Speaking of hikes, you don't even need to leave the property to take in an amazing hike! Our trip was blessed with great weather and amazing fall colors, which made for some incredible pictures. Wayne & Evan, we could never adequately thank you for making our honeymoon so incredibly special!!! We are so blessed to have found your cottage; it was the icing to a blessed marriage!!!

Relaxing stay in Suttons Bay

4 of 5
Rating Details: I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was more than happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed here in August 2014, which was a last minute change due to the house we originally booked getting pulled from the rental pool. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Pros: - we really enjoyed the location. Suttons Bay is wonderful for shopping and had several great restaurants. close to wineries, breweries, and about 20 minutes to downtown Traverse City. The Leelanau Trail picks up right across the highway from the house, and you can walk/jog/bike/ski it into Suttons, which is 1 mile to the downtown village. - waterfront. The home is right on the water, and has bay views from every room in the house. - lots of room to spread out - we had 4 adults and a toddler and it was great. It could easily sleep two couples with children, or 3 couples. The cons: - the home is right on the highway so there is some road noise and headlights at night. However, it is set down from the road so some of that is blocked. - steep steps down to the front door, which can be tricky to navigate with luggage, groceries, etc. - the shoreline is grassy/rocky, so if you don't have water shoes it is a little funky getting out past the grassline. However, once you get past it the water is clean and cool. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this home to others looking to visit northern Michigan.
