Beautiful Home

4 of 5
This property was gorgeous. It had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. We stayed in the winter so we weren't able to enjoy the lake and outdoor toys, but it would be a great destination during the summer. The fireplace put off a tremendous amount of heat and kept us very cozy and warm. Our only complaint is the location. It is pretty far from everything. We had to travel quite a bit to do anything (dinner, grocery store, etc). The ski resorts were a good 45 minute drive. If you're looking for seclusion, this is the house for you.

Great Fall Spot!

5 of 5
Brook Song was lovely; I knew it would be when I read previous reviews. I echo so many people's sentiments that Larry & Roo are wonderful hosts, the property is beautiful between the walking trails, gardens and wildlife everywhere not to mention the beautiful natural displays with rocks and branches. I also want to underline that this is not just a summer spot. We were there in October and the surrounding areas were astoundingly beautiful, the weather still perfect to enjoy the outdoors and be cozy inside as well.

Time with my wife and grandson was super!

5 of 5
As the name implies, this house is located on the edge of the woods. Rustic hiking trails (a bit rough, but fine for the hearty) on the property take you to three bridges crossing a brook and a decent sized creek. Evidence of wildlife is every where. The place is about a mile from a beautiful Lake Michigan beach. It was not a hard walk to the beach (which we did often), but we used our car when we wanted to take a beach umbrella, blanket and other supplies for a day at the beach. The beach reminded us of of 7-Mile Beach in Grand Cayman in that it extends for miles along Good Harbor Bay. Unlike 7-mile beach there are no condos, hotels, homes, just miles of wilderness beach walking. The house itself is fully equipped, not sparsely equipped, like some condo rentals you will find. It feels like a home, not a rental. The deck is large and so relaxing. The main floor bathroom is all ceramic tile and no barrier for the shower. A ramp at the front door makes access to the house easy, as well. In the national park, be sure to see the Dune Climb and the Pierce Stocking Scenic Trail. We highly recommend this place. Look up Leelanau County or Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore to find all the restaurants and other things to see and do.
