Fantastic view. Great owner.

5 of 5
I booked this house for a crew of 7 sailors competing at a regatta at Muskegon Yacht Club, which is directly across the street. Very convenient location. The house had everything we needed including wi-fi, and it was clean and well maintained. Two bathrooms, and the laundry machines were a bonus. Owner Sid was very helpful, and communication before, during, and after our stay was prompt and considerate. Damage deposit was returned on time. I would definitely book this property again. Don't miss the USS Silversides WW II submarine exhibit!

Perfect escape

5 of 5
We were looking for a private, relaxing place where we could just enjoy the beach, lake, woods - perhaps some festivities in the surrounding area. We did not want to leave all weekend! We kept the fire going in the firepit for four days and nights, it was a little cool so the fire was perfect. During the day, the sun at the deck was found to be a perfect napping location in the breeze and sun. Inside the cottage was cozy, warm and well equipped for any cooking (group of six ladies!) It was raining lightly when we arrived, no matter, we sat out by the fire anyway. Going back again in 2013, same group of escapees from work.

You dont rent Sankofa, you experience it.

5 of 5
I am in the Navy stationed in Washington state so we decided to vacation in my home town of Muskegon for Memorial weekend. My two children are older and we realized that this would be our last vacation before they started their own lives. We chose Cottage Sankofa because of the outstanding reviews. We were not disappointed!! The front faces beautiful Lake Michigan and is better than any beach in California or Florida. Activities from biking on the beach, swimming and we even sailed on a replica ship from the 1800's. Then the back of the cottage is wooded with a nice little fire pit. The evenings we would build fires, make samores and play guitars. It is like having two distinct cottages for the price of one. There are many activities near Muskegon. We climbed a lighthouse, went on dune rides, toures a WWII Submarine and spent a day at Michigan Adventure Park. I really wish we would have had more time to see everything. The whole family agrees that our experience at Sankofa was the best vacation ever!!!
