We had so much fun !!

5 of 5
We came here for a week last June and we loved it. My kids like the lake the swam for hours out front. I swam to the island. The cottage was great , very well done the kitchen is nicer than my home. One day it rain but we went in the hot tub and watched movies. We spent one day at Michigan adventure about 15 minutes away. We like liked Twin lake and are planning a trip there in early June of 2010.

Home away from home

5 of 5
I was a little nervous about renting a home for the weekend and wasn't quite sure what to expect. The house was wonderful and had a very cozy, home like feeling. The upstairs bedroom had a comfortable bed and a half bath and the downstairs bedroom was perfect for kids. The living room had a pull out couch that could have been a little more comfortable but it was still nice. The kitchen was perfect and convenient. Eating out wasn't necessary because a full kitchen was available with pots and pans, a coffee pot, microwave and toaster, and a dishwasher. The deck was very spacious and all eleven of us were able to hang out together on it. My only suggestions for this cottage would be a softer bed for the pull out couch. The area was perfect. You could walk to the beach in minutes. At the beach there was a restaurant, a park for the kids, and a lot beautiful sand in your toes. The water was amazing, and this being my first time to Lake Michigan, I was very pleased. There are plenty of near-by stores in case anything was forgotten. There was a meijer, walmart, and a lot of places to eat. Over all this was a perfect place to stay and I will definitely come back and enjoy this place again.

Visit: July 29 - August 5, 2006 We give the cottage on Burns Lake our highest rating! Everything was delightful--the cottage itself, the grounds, the game room, the lake, and of course, our gracious hosts! No motors are allowed on the lake, and it is just the right size for taking out the (provided) canoe and paddleboat. It is also quiet, with about half the shoreline bordered by the National Forest. Our 5 year old daughter caught scads of panfish and small bass, much to her delight! The kids also couldn't get enough of the game room; we often had to pull them away from pool and air hockey to enjoy the "real" world. And enjoy it we did! From pristine Pere Marquette Beach, to the giant dunes of Silver Lake, to the Coast Guard festival in Grand Haven, to the tranquility of Burns Lake itself, we were never at a loss for something keep us entertained. Our sincere thanks to John and Jan for making our stay a wonderful experience. M, K, A, and M Brown
