NO ADEQUATE WORDS TO DESCRIBE

Camp Flapjack was everything we expected and more. The cabin was wonderful. It's well maintained, both inside and out. We were very comfortable. The weather was perfect. The fall colors were spectacular. (We were told they were more vibrant this year than they had been in years.) My husband and I spent many hours walking along the lake searching for fossils, following bird/animal tracks in the sand and marveling over the "shell" dunes. It was marvelous watching the sun come up over the lake, listening to the woods come to life. Although the deer were elusive, we were visited by hawks, Tundra swans, raccoons, chipmunks & a family of 5 bald eagles. Before we left home, we had made a list of places we wanted to go & things we wanted to see. We ended up only doing a small fraction of what we'd planned, because we didn't want to leave Camp Flapjack. We could have easily used 2 weeks there.........one to go sightseeing and one to just kick back, relax & enjoy the surroundings. Our recommendations? (Dan & Lynn, none of these are negative comments.) Buy groceries before you get to the cabin. It's a drive to/from town. The remoteness, tho, is part of the charm. Take waterproof boots. The area between the yard & the actual edge of the water stays wet, even when the tide is out. Get up early in the morning to sit on the porch and watch the sun come up. You won't be disappointed. I would definitely recommend Camp Flapjack to others...and have. We're looking forward to when we can go back.

NICE GETAWAY!

4 of 5
The accommodations were quite acceptable. Comfortable beds with plenty of room for the 7 of us.Great open floor plan and a wonderful deck we used everyday. The fire pit area is spacious and well-groomed. Flashlights or walkway lighting between the house and the fire pit area would have made a nice touch (it get's quite dark when you're star-gazing).We did try to fare the rocky beach out front a few times but decided to drive into Manistique for a sand beach alternative. Clean as expected when we arrived. Nice place!

BEAUTIFUL AREA!

5 of 5
I have to agree with the gentleman who said it was a place you kind of want to keep to yourself, but I will write this review. We had no problems at all. The area was just beautiful, and water was nice. Views all over the place with many windows and views from all sides including the laundry room which looked down the dirt road winding lane through the forest. We had a very nice time, and enjoyed the quiet and nature.
