Wonderful home away from home!

5 of 5
We would definitely stay here again. The owner has clearly gone to great lengths to make sure guests feel at home at this property. The house was very clean, beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and the games, DVDs and small library of books were a nice addition. The shaded, fenced back yard was a great place for our boys to play. We loved being able to walk to town and the riverwalk (we could have walked to the beach, too, but usually drove). The beaches in town are very nice, as is the nearby bird santuary. We took several side trips, too (Arcadia, Frankfort, Traverse City, Glen Arbor). If we ever return to Manistee, this property will be at the top of our list.

Very nice place to rent.

The location is really nice for a group vacation where people can easily walk into town, to the grocery store, or the farmers' market. Its not far from the river-walk, or the beach and situated nicely. We rented both halves which was nice for a big group of adults, it was convenient having space. One thing, the larger kitchen is on the "add-on side" so if you only rent the 3 bedroom side you wouldn't get it. The one disappointment was the hot tub. The water was murky and smelly when we arrived. Adding the maintenance chemicals didn't help so we basically couldn't use it. Additionally the floors hadn't been cleaned. Overall this is a very nice house and I'd definitely recommend it for a group of friends who want to vacation together but have their own space too.
