                                    Cozy, functional, fun

                                    5 of 5
I found the owner very easy to work with and very honest. Texting was the easiest way to keep in touch. I have two little ones and so her help baby-adapting the cottage really helped. Lexington is a little forgotten town which is fully functional, and relaxing. Everything was in walking distance. You can get wifi at the marina, next door. The signal is strongest near the dock. There was a great park there for children. We found the stairs to the beach a little steep, but were able to access our beach easily from the marina, and block the stairs from the baby by using the outside furniture. Our private beach was great, with a nice shallow swimming area protected from the waves by the rocks nearby. The cottage felt like a fully functinal house. The washer/drier was very useful, and the views of the ships outside our window were spectacular. There was a lovely bbq area-bring your own charcoal. There were three full bedrooms in the cottage. I especially liked the carpeting, which handled baby tumbles perfectly. There is a nice wrap-around window in the back so you can eat breakfast or sit up reading, with a great view of the lake. We brought our telescope, and there wasn't much light pollution out on the beach.

                                    Cozy Just Right For Us

                                    4 of 5
We loved this cozy cottage. It was filled with new furnishings and was spotless. I thought the bed might not be comfy since it was not a deep mattress but my husband and I slept great. The cottage is a short walk from the lake; it is not a sandy shore in this area of Lake Huron so we actually drove to the sandy beach in Lexington which is about 5 miles away. We used the grill at the cottage and had a fire in the fire-pit (got bit and forgot the bug spray so if you come, don't forget that- actually I found some spray the next day in the cottage!). We brought up our bikes and enjoyed riding in the local neighborhood. The owner is great to communicate with and sent back our deposit super quick (along with my earrings I left in the cottage- I was thankful for the considerate cleaning staff). We really liked the quieter lake area, compared to up north areas, and it was wonderful to not spend our precious time off, driving long distances to be able to kick back and relax. Even though Lexington is not very big, it had nice options for craft beer seekers: in walking distance the Water Tower Sports Bar had many Michigan craft beers, good food and a nice breakfast too. There was also a brewery in town and the Irish restaurant in town was lovely and we enjoyed lunch, We would recommend this to anyone seeking peace and quiet nearer to metro area.

                                    Beautiful! The perfect escape

                                    5 of 5
This was the perfect getaway, we cannot wait to go again. The only complaint is we didn't stay long enough! The house was open and updated and stocked with anything you need. The neighborhood really gave the up north feel lots if nature and beautiful houses. And the best part was the beach was right there. The owners was so easy and pleasant to deal with. Can't say it enough we loved our getaway and cannot wait to go back!!
