Great, Affordable Getaway

5 of 5
We were so pleased with our accomodations -- they exceeded our expectations. The cottage interior is cozy and comfortable, done in" pure Michigan" knotty pine; the full-size kitchen and outdoor grill are perfect for enjoying local foods your way (but if cooking's not your thing, Bud's and The Hofbrau in Interlochen are two great casual dining options); the heating system worked well on the chilly weekend of our stay; ditto the nice hot water, something we don't always experience Iin rentals. The bedrooms were small but comfortable. There's a nice view of and easy access to quiet Bass Lake. The property is just minutes away from Interlochen and is also a convenient base camp for day trips to Benzie County, the Leelanau Peninsula and Traverse City. The only caution I'd offer about the property is to be careful using the rustic stairway down to the dock, just because one of us was nursing a temporary infirmity.

Great week with the family

5 of 5
We had a great week with our family here. There is alot of privacy with woods surrounding the house. It is very clean and comfortable. The Wi-Fi and cable were a bonus and the kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook. The yard and beach area are very nice and we enjoyed the canoe and paddle boat. Everything you need is close by and Traverse City and the Leelenau Peninsula are an easy drive. We enjoyed a concert at Interlochen and tubing on the Platte River.

Cozy, Comfortable, Clean, and Close to ICA!

5 of 5
For anyone visiting ICA but not wanting or able to stay on campus, this cottage/home would be an excellent choice. The photos on the website are accurate; the property is well-maintained and generously supplied with kitchen appliances, dishes, cooking essentials and more -- and plenty of towels. The owner was easy to work with, and the value is great. The Interlochen State Park is also very close for those wishing a swim in Duck Lake. Clean, comfortable, cozy, close to ICA. Highly recommended!
