Secluded getaway

4 of 5
The property was very accurately described - and actually, more secluded than I had imagined, especially being on a lake - which was perfect! There were many areas to sit and relax - we spent time in the little "den" with the electric stove (it was cold when we were there and we had snow almost all days, even though it was May), we spent a lot of time in the living room with the wood burning fireplace, and tried to have a fire in the pit outside, but it was too chilly. But the firepit outside is well set up, comfortable. Next time we would love to use the boats (with the flooding this spring it wasn't possible). Very clean and well appointed. Only item I recall looking for were bedroom fans - we use them for white noise and airflow year round. Other than that, well appointed. Definitely looking forward to another stay soon!

Rating Details: I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was more than happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Over all the place worked out great for us. The kitchen layout provided a great gathering spot. The extra stove in the apartment came in handy. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and spices. Things that could be improved: 1. There were not enough blankets and few or no blankets for the kids who used the cots. 2. Several light bulbs were burned out or missing, including the bulbs that lit the outside stairway to the apartment. We though it was a fuse so we searched to all the fuse box separately. There were other lights missing or burned out in other rooms in the house. We switched bulbs around to what we needed. A few things you probably can not do anything about: 1. I did not understand that the access to the one apartment was an outside entrance to the second floor. It did not snow much so it was not a problem. If it had snowed or became icy, it might have been an issue. 2. It was cold outside and the living room was cold. The only heat radiator is blocked by the couch. However there are lots of windows and there needs to be 2 couches in that room, so there is probably not a solution to that.
