My daughter and I stayed here for three nights in June before I took her to summer camp. I was extremely nervous because we had rented two other places in the past (one in NC and one in CA) and had to leave both after one night because they were so disgusting and had been so grossly misrepresented in their pictures, etc. This place was even better than we had hoped! We were so relieved. It is decorated beautifully. Even the flowers in the window boxes on the terrace coordinated with the colors inside. The main room is warm and inviting with a cheerful color palette. The two pink sofas are slightly undersized which make them a bit tight if you want to lie down and watch TV or read, but two can sit comfortably. The kitchen is large and well equipped. The bedrooms were decorated more simply (the master has a gas fireplace) and we slept very well. The view from the terrace and the rooftop deck is just beautiful. It overlooks the harbor. The rooftop deck was great for sitting and reading and it is huge. There is a BBQ up there and had we been there longer we probably would have used it. The location can't be beat. You can walk to anything in Harbor Springs, which is quite nice. The town is quite sleepy with not much going on so it's nice to have somewhere beautiful to come back to at the end of the day. It's so nice in fact that we found ourselves not wanting to leave. The restaurants in town are unremarkable (simple food but you won't be dreaming about them after you leave) so it's nice to cook in the apt and sit on the terrace. They have some board games which we played (they could use more) and no movie channels, which would have been nice. Normally we never watch TV on vacation but with so little going on in town, and having already exhausted the board games, it would be a nice addition to the rental--especially in this price point. My 12 year old loved the place and wants to come back next year. WE felt very comfortable and safe both in the apt and in the town. The town itself is so clean and pretty that I can't believe a movie hasn't been filmed there. We went to the Farmer's Market (in town on Wednesdays) and bought some great stuff. A new place in town called Small Batch that hadn't yet opened up while we were there but most likely is now, was selling there baked goods. One thing was more delicious then the next: the quiche, lemon bars, avocado bread...all scrumptious. That's the only food we ate the we keep talking about.
