Out of 5 Stars, I give this property 6.

5 of 5
The owners and managers of this property have raised the bar on hospitality, comfort, quality and aesthetics. My family and I had the great fortune to be among the first visitors of this lovely property nestled right in the heart of Harbor Springs. Everything about our stay was first-class. We were welcomed by a very service-oriented manager who navigated us around the charming space and pointed us to a very generous gift basket with wine and snacks for us and age and gender appropriate items for all three of my kids. Also, if we had literally not packed any toiletries, we would've been more than covered with bathroom cabinets filled with any item we might need. We wanted to take the kitchen with us: Viking appliances, butcher block countertops, beautiful back-splashes and top-of-the-line lighting made us dread going back to our own home. Condiments, coffee, and those food items you don't know that you need until you do were also stocked high in the cupboard. Great space and plenty of unexpected luxuries enabled us to enjoy making many meals at our temporary home. I say "home" because it felt more like a home than a rental property. Everything was well constructed and solid, including the furnishings. The space worked well for my wife and three young children, but mainly because we have a toddler who slept in our bed. Most people would likely max out at 2 adults and 2 children. We were so well taken care of. When I texted the property manager that we were having a problem with the A/C and that my wife had forgotten her hair dryer, the owner of the property showed up an hour later with a dryer in hand and a quick flip of a furnace switch to turn on the A/C. He couldn't have been more nice and thoughtful. We were super easy walking distance to everything Harbor Springs has to offer, including the beach, restaurants, coffee shop and just steps away from Yummies, the alluring ice cream shop. I can't wait to stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who appreciates nice, clean, first-class living!

Weekend Away

5 of 5
We enjoyed our stay here in Harbor Springs. Everything was as expected and Patty was great to work with. Nice amenities - we enjoyed the weight room, hot tub and swimming pool. The drive around the shoreline of Lake Michigan was awesome.

A great summer retreat!

4 of 5
Four of us decided to leave the TX heat behind, and spend the month of August in MI. We're seniors and golfers (of sorts) and were interested in cooler temps, pretty scenery and comfortable places to read on our Kindles when we weren't out sightseeing. The Trillium cottage fit the bill! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, (although we didn't put it to much of a test), and the weather was cooperative. We only had the AC on three days! Our favorite golf course was little Traverse Bay, a hilly course with lots of hills and views of the bay, and about 3 miles away. We are nine-hole players, and we found that nearly all of the courses had a twi-light nine-hole rate, including most of the Boyne courses. We played two of the Boyne courses next door to the cottage, and enjoyed them very much. We also played Crooked Tree which is hilly and pretty. The nine-hole rates aren't published, so you have to call the 800 central golf res number and they'll put you through to the pro shop. Favorite restaurants included Douglas Lake Bar and Grill, Little Traverse Bay Country Club, The Palette and Twisted Olive Cafe which are next door to one another in Petoskey, and Kilborn's Fish Restaurant outside of Harbor Springs. Be sure to have an olive burger someplace...they brought back fond memories of my teen years in Michigan! Be sure to take the Kilwin's Chocolate Factory tour in Petoskey, and whatever you do, DO NOT FAIL to try their salted caramel ice cream...to die for. The owners were very easy to deal with. The house is in good shape and well cared for. It was a great month!
