Such a Great House to Stay at in Harbor Springs!

5 of 5
My family stayed at this house for 4 nights and really loved it. It is so close to the beach and downtown, easily walk to both in less than 10 minutes. The house is decorated very nicely and I love the kitchen. Got some cool ideas for our own house! The owner of the house is very hospitable and a pleasure to rent from . The house was clean and very inviting. We will definitely stay here again! My six year old loved visiting Pond Hill Farm and the Elizabeth Kennedy Nature Center. The 36 year olds liked them too!

Beautiful and Relaxing Vacation

5 of 5
We visited the cottage after Christmas and didn't want to leave! The house was spotless when we arrived. The kitchen was stocked with cooking and eating materials: pots, pans, plates, silverware and anything else we needed. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all fully stocked and very welcoming with the homey quilts on them. It was ideal to just be able to drop our bags and immediately sit down on the couch and relax. Since we arrived at night, our first view of the lake came in the morning. The view was stunning. We spent a lot of time simply looking out the window and taking in the view. Since it was December and very cold, we only went for one walk but it was great to be able to walk along the water and look at the scenery. When we wanted to go out and experience the area, we drove into Petoskey. Downtown Petoskey is very cute and there were many shops and restaurants to visit. In addition, we went skiing one day. In short, we had a wonderful time and raved about the location and the cottage to all of our friends. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a beautiful and quiet Northern Michigan get away. I am looking forward to going back. Soon.

A great summer retreat!

4 of 5
Four of us decided to leave the TX heat behind, and spend the month of August in MI. We're seniors and golfers (of sorts) and were interested in cooler temps, pretty scenery and comfortable places to read on our Kindles when we weren't out sightseeing. The Trillium cottage fit the bill! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, (although we didn't put it to much of a test), and the weather was cooperative. We only had the AC on three days! Our favorite golf course was little Traverse Bay, a hilly course with lots of hills and views of the bay, and about 3 miles away. We are nine-hole players, and we found that nearly all of the courses had a twi-light nine-hole rate, including most of the Boyne courses. We played two of the Boyne courses next door to the cottage, and enjoyed them very much. We also played Crooked Tree which is hilly and pretty. The nine-hole rates aren't published, so you have to call the 800 central golf res number and they'll put you through to the pro shop. Favorite restaurants included Douglas Lake Bar and Grill, Little Traverse Bay Country Club, The Palette and Twisted Olive Cafe which are next door to one another in Petoskey, and Kilborn's Fish Restaurant outside of Harbor Springs. Be sure to have an olive burger someplace...they brought back fond memories of my teen years in Michigan! Be sure to take the Kilwin's Chocolate Factory tour in Petoskey, and whatever you do, DO NOT FAIL to try their salted caramel ice cream...to die for. The owners were very easy to deal with. The house is in good shape and well cared for. It was a great month!
