Perfect for weekend family getaway

4 of 5
Rating Details: I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was more than happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was more than helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Lovely remodeled house with alot of character. Nicely decorated. Close to the town and a short walk to the lake. Lots of room to move around in the house and alot of space upstairs. The house has kayaks, lawn games, fire ring, games, etc. plenty of entertainment. The house is close to the highway but it was not a problem because there is backyard space. Will need to watch small children out front.

Divine Wintery Solitude

5 of 5
Our family of 6 adults spent a week at Woodhaven, February 18-25, 2011, with the intention of x-country skiing and snow shoeing in Sleeping Bear. The snow didn't cooperate, but we had a wonderful week of hiking in the Park, rewarded by the incomparable, breathtaking beauty of lake and dune overlooks. Woodhaven is perfectly located for easy access to both the north and south areas of Sleeping Bear, and we also enjoyed being able to walk to the shops in Glen Arbor and to the Lake Michigan shoreline (for more walking along the frozen sculpted waves at water's edge--magical)! I love people, but the solitude in the Park at this time of the year, mid-week, was very welcome, too. The kitchen at Woodhaven easily accommodated our collective cooking (one of our family's pleasures, especially since two of us are vegan which makes eating "out" less easy), beds were comfy, and the neighborhood, quiet as it was, provided a great place to de-stress. Truthfully, I wish I were there, right this minute! (The house is lovely in winter, and I can only imagine how beautiful it must be in the summer...clean, neat and tidy, as well. Also, we had family pets along, and being able to step out right out the door for a walk was certainly a plus.)
