Ideal family vacation spot!

5 of 5
Spent a wonderful week relaxing in this unique summer cottage. So many activities to choose from - mountain biking the Vasa Trail near Traverse City, conoeing several local rivers, hikes in the National Park (especially across the sand dunes), swimming and sailing on the incomparable Glen Lake, reading, playing games, visiting farmer's market in Glen Arbor to select ingredients for cooking delicious meals, biking to Cedar for tasty tacos, wine tastings at nearby vineyards, and so on. Glen Lake offers it all and our cabin was the perfect place to enjoy it all. Thanks so much. We are coming back!!

Loved our visit, Genuine log cabin of character

5 of 5
We wanted a low-key getaway somewhat out of the ordinary to relax, swim, read and enjoy family. This log cabin filled the bill. It takes one back with the stone fireplace and chimney at one end surrounded by vintage, well-maintained seating in which to relax in the firelight. We cooked and ate at the old pine table, sitting on the long pine benches at either side. WiFi is good but using it is a distraction which detracts from the ambiance. New for 2014 was a nice large shower instead of the old tub as well as an outdoor shower area with hot as well as cold water. This more than makes up for the 1 1/2 baths in the cabin. There was also a new leather lounge chair and footstool. Not everything is new, nor does it need to be. It is obvious the family maintains the comfortable, easy character of the cabin replacing as necessary and repairing the old. Read the bedroom description, it is accurate. Don't try to pack in 10-12. There were 8 of us treading lightly and appreciative that the 3rd generation owners are willing to share with others this wonderful piece of history on this gorgeous lake. Come and enjoy if you wish peace and serenity. Pass it by if you want bells, whistles & modern electronic amenities because wifi is it. We will be back and hope to stay for 2 weeks. Thank you for your hospitality.

Very nice; great view of Lake Michigan

5 of 5
We stayed with our daughter, son-in-law, and twin 2-year-old granddaughters over President's Weekend. The condo was very clean, well-supplied, and worked out great for the 6 of us. Roomy enough to stay out of each other's space. Living room and one bedroom have fabulous views of the lake and the Manitous. Since it was probably the coldest weekend of the winter (sub-zero much of the time), we watched the ice building on the lake, day by day! The condo was snug, and the lot and sidewalk were kept shoveled. We did walk to and from the village a few times, in spite of the cold. On a warmer weekend it wouldn't have been a problem for anyone in decent shape (there is a serious incline on the road, however). There are some steps (maybe equal to one story), but not nearly as many as most of the adjoining condos. We would love to come back in the summer or fall and explore! Ramune was great; touched base to make sure all was well.
