Cozy Just Right For Us

4 of 5
We loved this cozy cottage. It was filled with new furnishings and was spotless. I thought the bed might not be comfy since it was not a deep mattress but my husband and I slept great. The cottage is a short walk from the lake; it is not a sandy shore in this area of Lake Huron so we actually drove to the sandy beach in Lexington which is about 5 miles away. We used the grill at the cottage and had a fire in the fire-pit (got bit and forgot the bug spray so if you come, don't forget that- actually I found some spray the next day in the cottage!). We brought up our bikes and enjoyed riding in the local neighborhood. The owner is great to communicate with and sent back our deposit super quick (along with my earrings I left in the cottage- I was thankful for the considerate cleaning staff). We really liked the quieter lake area, compared to up north areas, and it was wonderful to not spend our precious time off, driving long distances to be able to kick back and relax. Even though Lexington is not very big, it had nice options for craft beer seekers: in walking distance the Water Tower Sports Bar had many Michigan craft beers, good food and a nice breakfast too. There was also a brewery in town and the Irish restaurant in town was lovely and we enjoyed lunch, We would recommend this to anyone seeking peace and quiet nearer to metro area.
