Great Oasis in the Trees

5 of 5
Nicely appointed home away from home high up in the trees overlooking Lake Michigan. Very clean and complete. Owners are available by phone for any questions. We spent a wintry long weekend here, so the beach was a little difficult to navigate because of the ice buildup. Also, most businesses were not open at this time of year. We did do some hiking though and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet, as well as the dvd collection at the home. Cottage is very close to Wilderness State Park and Mackinac Bridge.

Great retreat!!!

5 of 5
We loved this place! We had 2 families (total of 4 adults & 3 teenagers) and we had plenty of room. All maintenance issues listed in a previous review have been dealt with. Bedrooms are good size. Living room is comfortable. View from living room & deck is outstanding! We enjoyed every single sunset even from the comfort of the living room on the chilly evenings (which were rare & unseasonable). Kitchen table and kitchen are large & accommodating. Very quiet and secluded. Neighbors are close but so much forest & foliage that you'd never guess it. Day-trips were easy to plan. Landlord was great to work with. Great communication-highly recommended. We'll definitely put this on our list for return trips!

Picture Perfect

5 of 5
Cute, clean and everything we needed except for food and clothes. The owner called to check on us to see if we needed anything. We enjoyed kayaking, and rock collecting. The beach here is very rocky, but much cleaner than the sandy area a short walk away. The teens enjoyed finding games to play that weren't video games! The adults, teens and dogs all had a great time. Beautiful sunsets! Only 30 minutes from Machinac. We were hoping to try the Legg's Inn in Cross Village, but it was a 2 hour wait. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again if it weren't for 4 teens and one shower.
