        Family Friendly!

        5 of 5
This was a great place for 2 families with a lot of kids. We had 4 adults and 7 children. We really were only there in the morning and evening. It was a nice location to easily visit many areas (Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, etc., Ste. St. Marie). This was 5 stars for us and here is why: THE WALKOUT BASEMENT - otherwise known as the kid cave. Six children made themselves at home down there. There was a king size bed and queen pull out sofa, love seat, tv and half bath. KITCHEN - Fully stocked with just about every appliance/cooking utensil you could need. We did have to buy a bottle of dish soap as they were out, but everything else was there. There was no food obviously, but there were many staples such as salt, pepper, seasonings, etc. WASHER/DRYER - 7 children, enough said :-) GRILL and FIRE PIT - The patio had a huge table and lovely view. The kids enjoyed evening s'mores. THE OWNERS - Joe was fantastic to work with and very accommodating! They promptly refunded our security deposit when our stay was over. If you decide this rental is for you, here are a few things to know: - This home is the only rental in a quiet neighborhood. If you have a rowdy bunch, this may not be for you. - The home was clean and things in working order, but it is a bit of a time capsule. -There is no air conditioning. This was not a problem for us. We opened the windows and had a nice cool breeze. There were plenty of fans available (we did not need to use these). - If you have very small children be aware that the property goes right up to the river with no barrier or fence. This was not a problem for us. We had a 2 year old with us and just kept a close eye out. It is also not a good place to swim as the current is strong. Overall, this place suited our needs!!

        Honeymoon cottage

        5 of 5
We stayed here for our honeymoon and had a great time! The cottage is beautiful, has just about everything you need....all you need is your towels & groceries and is very clean, maintained!! The surrounding area is very scenic...close to state parks, Macinaw City is close, saw salmon jumping out of the water at the dam. You can do as little as you like, or find plenty to do nearby. Donna is a great resource for what is in the area and has great recommendations. We are talking about going back next time with family. Very spacious for 2 people, plenty of room for a group of 6 -8. Hope to come back next time with a boat to explore more! Highly recommend a stay here!

        Private romantic getaway

        5 of 5
We enjoyed the beautiful fall color season, the private river front setting and the closeness to Mackinac Island. A great week for us to spend quality time together.
