My husband and I, together with four other couples, all long- time friends and frequent travel companions, arrived at Loma Bonita for our last week of our travels in Mexico. We reached paradise. As we settled in the beauty and peace of the place worked its magic. It was the simple pleasures of life that filled our days. Long walks on the beach, meeting only the occasional fisherman. Having the joy of watching baby sea turtles hatch and make their way to the ocean. Watching the whales breaching in the ocean. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The sound of the ocean to put you to sleep at night and wake you in the morning. We rented the two villas and two bungalows so had plenty of places to spend individual time or time together as a big group. We arranged some of our meals with Karina and Thomasa from the restaurant down the beach and what meals they were! The tres leches birthday cakes were an outstanding end to two great birthday meals. We gathered around the large table in the small villa nightly. We all had the best massages ever next to the trickling fountain in the back patio of the large villa. Yoga under the beautiful palapa down by the ocean took a new meaning of mind, body, spirit. Think, Shavasana with the sound of the ocean waves and the feel of ocean breeze. At all times we were in the very special care of Jesus, Rita and team. The place was kept beautifully and we were left to enjoy and relax. The owner Liz,during our planning stage she answered every question asked of her, and continued to help make sure our stay was the experience of a lifetime while we were on site – in other words she helped create magic. We had arrived with great plans to go out sightseeing. In the end we spent a morning in Patatlan to get some supplies as well as visit the church,(which was well worth it), and gold market. We did a few hours in Zihua on our way to the airport as we were leaving and though enjoyable, we were glad we didn’t take time away from our "Shangri-la" during our stay. If you want a place to gather as family and friends and reconnect,if you want a place that is not commercial where you can go to totally recharge and connect this is the place. When I arrived I wasn’t sure what I would do for seven days. When I left, I left with tears in my eyes and wondered where the days had gone.
