A wonderful Sorpresa indeed!

5 of 5
We were so pleased with Casa Sorpresa! It truly is an oasis. Upon walking in through the gates you are welcomed with large shade trees and the fountain…and of course the beautiful salt water pool! The open air living and dining spaces were so lovely in the shade especially with the hammock during siesta hours. The pool was our highlight! It was pretty hot in May, but having the pool was just perfect. The air conditioned rooms are spacious and very nicely decorated with brightly colored bedding. There were ample towels available, which was great since we were swimming multiple times a day. I was also surprised at how quiet it was at night in the bedrooms and what a lovely neighborhood it is. The market/restaurant next door was great for smoothies and/or breakfast in the morning. And around the corner was an excellent food truck with amazing coconut shrimp and fish tacos. The pizza at Venezia was great too- all within a 2 minute walk. The beach is truly just a block away and there is a great tienda with fresh produce not too far in the other direction. The kitchen is well stocked for basic cooking needs and there is filtered water provided (in the bathrooms too). All in all we loved this place and would book it again in heart beat. If you are looking for a wonderful gem away from the noise of town but close enough to everything (and not up a long hill)- this is the place for you! We highly recommend Casa Sorpresa!

Fairly Nice

4 of 5
We stayed in January of 2014. The common areas of the house were very nice (kitchen, dining and living areas). The swimming pools and the gardens were also very nice. The bedroom we stayed in had a bit of a mildew smell. The Wi-Fi was terrible. It only works in the kitchen/living area and it doesn't work most of the time. We had to reset the router every hour and the Wi-Fi still did not work very often. The location is also on a very steep hill which makes the views lovely, but it is difficult to get to the house (even if you rent a golf cart or car because the driveway is so steep).

Stunning retreat!

5 of 5
Upon opening the wooden gates to enter the property we were in total awe! The waves of the ocean were rolling onto the golden sand only just a few meters from the Casa. I was so releived and happy that I had chose this place! With so many Casa's to choose from it was a sweet relief that I chose the absolute best location! If you want to be close to the plaza and yet be in a tranquil location, this is the place. My favourite thing about this Casa is that we were able to avoid sitting in lawn chairs amongst the masses on the main beach. We could enjoy the main beach, go surfing, eat fish tacos, buy handmade jewellery and then stroll to our private beach within a few minutes. We would all smile so big every time we arrived at the Casa from the beach. We would joke at how awesome our Casa was compared to all the others! We felt pretty grateful! Sayulita is a very safe, funky, alternative community. The people are healthy and happy. As well, I was happy to see how well the dogs, cats and horses are cared for. Kudos to sayulita on being an example to other communities on how to live harmoniously with our furry friends. A thank you must go out to Delia the housekeeper. Thank you for making us smile and cheer! Thanks to the home owner Richard for arranging a few more nights! So awesome! We are sitting on the veranda right now feeling very lucky that we don't have to leave tomorrow!!! Thanks for the 5 extra nights!!! We don't want to go anywhere else! Casa Aguila is an authentic Mexican Casa in the very best location with comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen and magical sunsets. Enjoy!
