This home is spectacular, and it was the perfect retreat during crazy Semana Santa for our group of two families with small children. There was plenty of space for all of us, both inside and outside, and the house has all of the amenities you could want. The beach is a short walk away, but we spent most of our time lounging in the pool. The heart of the town of Sayulita is a 10-15 minute walk away, but within a block are restaurants, abarrotes, cafes, and anything else you could need. The house was cleaned every day, and Jorge (the property manager) was super helpful with everything from security to arranging a trip to the Marietas. This is the kind of property where you will happily wile away a week and not even notice time slipping by.
That's saying A LOT since we were there during Semana Santa, which is particularly crazy in Sayulita. If you travel during that week, be prepared for late nights of town noise (not the house's fault!), crowded beaches, and a constant stream of people walking by on the street. In fact, the house is even more of a retreat during the week because you can forget the throngs of travelers and campers clogging up town. The only big downside during that week is security. While the owners have taken many precautions, no house can be 100% secure, and we did have some issues with the room that faces the street (the mini-apartment room). If you come during Semana Santa or Pascua, leave your electronics and valuables at home and be prepared to be extra vigilant about securing the property. And otherwise, enjoy your oasis of calm at this extraordinary property.
