This was our third stay at Tres Vistas and every single time has been amazing. First two were big family visits and we pleasantly packed the place. The most recent visit was a long weekend grown up getaway for my wife and I. Our first ever in three+ years!
It was the rainy season which actually made it even more enjoyable. The rain took the edge off the heat and generally only rained in spurts. We lounged in the pool as the rain came down and it was quite nice. We had breakfast made for us every morning by the very pleasant staff. We gave them a list and they did the shopping for us. That was a nice change!
We kicked back at the beach and went to several excellent restaurants - La Palapa (fancier), Joe Jacks (crazy good fish n chips), Cafe De Olla (shrimp and twice baked potato!), Aloha Cafe (next door to La Palapa, chill at the beach here, great ceviche and cheap drinks). Also, the taqueria at the base of the hill is excellent. Be adventurous because ALL the tacos are tasty!
If you like off-roading, you have to do the Adventure Tour at the base of the hill the house is on. We've done it every time we've been and I LOVE IT! It was pretty wild the first time we did it but they've upgraded all the rides to ATVs and Razors and modified the tour so it's scenic AND fun.
I love this place and will be definitely be going back. The rooms are all roomy, clean, and private. When we've been there with the place packed you can scurry off to your room, close the door and read without being bothered! Very important. Also, the Master is amazing. This was our first time to get to stay in it and it was worth the wait.
The house is on top of a very steep hill which allows for spectacular views from the pool and the house but that also leads to my only complaint. If there are older people in your party, they will not be able to walk it but there are cabs everywhere. There is almost always one at the base of the hill and they are easily called to the house sand are are very cheap.
