Recent Puerto Vallarta Reviews

this place surpassed expectations.

5 of 5
The house, gardens, and amenities were all incredible. Ted was very helpful. Chela and Martin are friendly and accessible. The location is right in the middle of town, and you can walk to beaches, the malecon, mercados, and all the things you need. Taxi stands are right down the street and the busses are easy to use. There are some great restaurants right in the immediate neighborhood - Si Senor next door has a great courtyard area for dining; Arrayan is authentic and fun Mexican; Café Des Artistes is very elegant and right down the street. We also took a few day trips to some beaches, a spa, and the Botanical Gardens. But, if you just hang around the villa you will be happy. The pool and multiple terraces are so welcoming. It was perfect in every way.

Paradise in Puerto Vallarta

5 of 5
This is no hyperbole, Skip's place in Molino de Agua is incredible and is everything that it is made out to be. First, Molina de Agua is a luxury complex located in the heart of Puerto Vallarta and just steps away from the sand. The pool at Molino is breathtaking and has a swim to bar with the best drinks in town. ( the beef nachos are delicious!). The condo we stayed in is amazing. The master suite is as big as some houses and the other two bedrooms are very large with bathroom and ocean view. The place is immaculately kept, the managing agent was beyond caring, the cooking staff that was recommended made delicious breakfasts and an amazing Mexican dinner. I was asked if there is anything I would change and I have to answer honestly , there is nothing except perhaps to extend my stay at this beautiful home. Skip could not have been more accommodating, friendly and helpful. Would I recommend this place to my friends? No, under fear that they would take my week! If you want a fun place to visit and an amazing place to stay in, this will be your place.

Charming, Spacious House in Gringo Gulch

4 of 5
We were excited about Casa Marfil from the beautiful pictures on the website. When we arrived, we noticed the beautiful gated door that welcomed us. We quickly found the rooms exactly as they appeared from the description. The house was clean and we were further welcomed by the housekeeper, Laura. She had prepared a delicious melon drink that was so refreshing. We also had asked her ahead of time to prepare dinner for our first night since we would be tired from flying. The house was perfect for our family of 10. We had ample room to spread out, the ability to cook our own meals, and enough space to relax and enjoy the views and wildlife of the River Cuale after each days' adventures. We even took one day just to stay at the house and rest. Some of us took naps while others read and listened to music. We especially liked the location which was close enough to all the buzz of the beaches and activities but yet far enough away to enjoy the quiet streets and day to day life of the locals. We utilized the walking bridge down to Isla Cuale everyday and enjoyed strolling in the shade past the market vendors on our 10 minute walk to the beach. Our favorite places were the Malecon for strolling, Fredy's Tucan for Sunday brunch, Adobe's restaurant for an evening dinner, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe for Mass, and the flea markets for souvenirs. We also requested a transfer to and from the airport which was arranged by Lupita through Superior Tours. The driver was excellent and made a grocery stop so we could pick up supplies for the week. We also booked two additional excursions through Puerta Vallarta tours for a trip to San Sebastian and the Pirate Adventure/Mahahuitas beach day. Because of the location of the house, we were able to walk to the pick up point for the trip to San Sebastian. The house was also close to a bus stop where we caught a city bus to the Maritime Terminal for the Pirate Adventure. We also took a city bus back and walked the short distance to the house at the end of the day. We will definitely recommend Casa Marfil to our friends who regularly vacation in PV and hope to visit again. It's nice to know what to expect and what worked for us. It will make our next stay even more enjoyable!
