The description of this property was accurate; in fact, I would say that words cannot describe how beautiful this house is--nor can the pictures do this house justice. I stayed there for 5 weeks starting with the first of February, and I hated having to leave.
The property was extremely clean, the views are ridiculous, and the open air makes this house unbeatable. I will gladly stay there again if it's available.
Thierry--the owner (and chef of Cafe Des Artistes) was extremely hospitable and responsive to my requests, as was Carolina (the assistant)--this really helps when you need something or need some recommendations--you can't beat them on service. Also, a super-sweet cleaning lady (Nicol) comes by twice a week to help with laundry, dishes, and general cleaning services at the house--this is an excellent service to have when you're at a house like this.
The rooftop, living room, and master bedroom views are jaw-dropping--you can see a huge part of the bay, down into the neighborhood, and can see the Malecon (boardwalk). The house sits on a hill almost completely on its own. Nearly every window opens up in the house, and since you're on the hill, the air flows freely through the house. On a sunny day, you cannot beat the rooftop. At night, the lighting in the house is perfect--many of the lights are on dimmers, so you can adjust down or up depending on your mood.
There is a fully-stocked kitchen with all kinds of cooking utensils, pots, pans, plates, glasses, etc--if you feel like cooking, the kitchen is definitely setup for it--and there's a dishwasher to help. As well, there's a washer/dryer in the laundry room that works great--no need to take your laundry anywhere.
If you wondering about security, there's an alarm system on the house, so you can feel safe that when you're gone, your belongings are secure. There is also a huge gate at the bottom of the steps as well as a very secure door to get directly into the house. It's a bit of a walk up the steps to get to the house, but it's worth every last step--the views make it worth it.
You are about a 5-minute walk down to the Malecon--about 6 short blocks down the hill. The house is in El Centro--the real part of town. The great thing about this location is that you can walk to the north shops, south restaurants, or Malecon in just a matter of minutes.
Overall, I highly recommend this house to anyone--you get privacy, views, security, and the essence of PV all in one house.
