Magical Family Visit

5 of 5
Our experience started with Sandy, the owner, prior to booking. She took the time to set up a phone call to answer anything else we needed help figuring out. We came with 3 young children and had a lot of questions regarding the location, pool, beds, etc. She was patient, kind and thorough. We remembered the hills from a prior stay in PV and managing hills with small kids seemed a bit daunting but, those anxieties were short-lived. It is about a 15 minute walk to the beach from the villa. We did it with all 3 kids and enjoyed it. It isn't for everyone. If we didn't feel like doing the walk, we called the taxi (which took 3-5 minutes to get to the villa daily) and for 60 pesos or approx $5, we were at the beach in 5 minutes. It was exhilarating to be in the city/beach and then we felt so fortunate to be able to escape to our Casa Montana (I usually took the 2 youngest back up with me in a taxi) The views are great. You can see the bay from every window it seemed. The sunsets from the bedroom balconies are breathtaking. It is in a beautiful, safe neighborhood and at night, the only noise is the occasional car meandering its way up the hill. The accommodations are wonderful. The beds are comfortable and they made sure the pillows were good. (I am a pillow snob). The beds are king-sized so there was plenty of room for all of us in the 2 bedrooms. Each had its own bathroom and the main level also had a bathroom. The decor is beautiful and has the Mexican charm we like. Flor, the housekeeper and cook, is a delight. She will come to prepare a continental breakfast including coffee and fruit/toast and then cleans the whole villa for you. She can also, if you request it, make other meals for you including adding eggs to your breakfast or lunch/dinner for extra charge. We sent a grocery list prior and for $30, she will go and pick everything up from your list. We told her ahead of our visit that we love homemade beans and guacamole/salsa. We came to the villa and our fridge was stocked and everyday, we had Mex Salsa and beans and a fresh guac. I would recommend getting a menu prior to arrival if meals are something you would like and let her know so she can buy ingredients for those first days then. We had Diablo Shrimp for lunch one day(awesome). She speaks limited English. We hope to return again and would recommend this place to anyone...couples, familes, long term stay, etc.

The scenery, service and layout of this Villa is top notch. We stayed here to celebrate a very special birthday with a very special group of women. This place offered the space comfort, and relaxation that we all needed. All the while, serving the best margaritas Mexico could ask for. The Chef the BEST!

Overall we had excellent experience and would not hesitate to recommend the place to others. House is wonderful, views breathtaking, staff very helpful. It is a great place to stay - enough said. You will not be disappointed. But I will list few things that surprised us and/or we wished we knew before coming not because we would have decided not to come but it would have made our stay even more pleasant. 1. The pool on the properly is perfect in every way except water temperature. Everyone found it to be on the cool side. Kids did not care but adults tended not to go in as much. 2. Master bedroom upstairs is fairly close to road and is open to both pool (road) and ocean side. You can't see road but you definitely hear cars. Between ocean and cars don't expect that room to be quiet. 3. At the time of our stay WiFi would not reach master bedroom upstairs. Owner told me they will have it fixed - takes $50 device - so I don't expect it to be an issue in the future but if you care - ask. 4. The house is very open and airy and has lots of plants throughout. Expect visitors - we had a bunch of ants (non-biting type) in our room one day and forgot to turn light off and ended up with lots of bugs in room one evening. 5. Two of bedrooms had TVs but with no cable/satellite make sure to bring your own "content" - perhaps a laptop with HDMI adapter. 6. Taxis that get "called" to house will ask for substantially higher rate than ones flagged down 100ft away on the road. Know what fares should be and insist they accept it. 7. Pay in Pesos. Go to ATM in romantic zone (bank norde or something) and take 8,000 pesos out at a time. ATM in convenience store lets you take 3,000 pesos out and charges double the fee every time. 8. Do your own research. I thought Euphracio would be very knowledgeable about tourist attractions, logistics, etc. but he was not. He was extremely helpful and nice around the house and could call taxi for us or arrange other minor logistics but when it came to planning activities, etc we relied on Google. 9. Waves are big - PV is not a good place for small kids to swim in ocean. But shoreline is beautiful. 10. Enjoy the house. PV is nice but pretty much every time we would go out somewhere and come back we felt whatever we was not up to what we have left behind. Overall I highly recommend this place - this was our best vacation so far.
