This is our 4th stay at this lovely home overlooking the Pacific. We love the design and views. There are comfortable lounge areas under the palapa and in the gardens to hide away, if desired, while the pool acts as a centerpiece for those who want to gather. The walk down the hill may be steep for some, but being within an easy walk of old Zihuat with its shops and markets is just about the perfect proximity to the community. Staff are friendly and do great work. Feels very safe and is a great place to relax completely. For restaurants, we enjoy Banditos near the church or Casa que Canta near Playa de Ropa for a fancy meal in a spectacular setting. Get Jaime to cook you a meal at the house, though, and take in the view from around the table with delicious food and your companions. Kayaking the river delta was a highlight. In addition, we always get up early one morning to visit the fish market on the beach in town. I really like the city and its people.

                                        FantasticO!

CASA DEL SURFISTA is a truly unique experience and possibly the most amazing house I’ve stayed in on this planet. We visited on my friend’s bachelor surf/adventure trip and stayed in awe our entire visit of the magnificent architecture, canvas of beautiful nightly stars (since no street lights obscure the view), rejuvenating ocean sounds, and blissful ocean wind. This place truly takes your breath away as you relax and marvel at it. A few reviews have complained about things that didn’t bother us. I chose to focus on the amazing ambiance. Our trip was planned around proximity to the famous surf break called LAS SALADITAS (aka “the machine”) and Casa Del Surfista is about a 5 minute drive to Lourdes Bar and Grill which is the best access point for this famous surf break. Each day we really enjoyed surfing at Lourdes and then escaping back to our inspiring haven at Casa Del Surfista. There was a surf break in front of Casa Del Surfista but we spent a majority of our time surfing at Lourdes. Our SUV rental fell through but we were still able to navigate to and from Casa Del Surfista in our mini-van (ha-ha-ha, we found it funny to be in one). If you go during the rainy season I would strongly recommend a SUV; we were there just after the rainy season ended. The beach at Casa Del Surfista is very private, the entire week we stayed I think we only saw 4 other people on the beach (2 boys fishing a mile down the beach and father/son swimming briefly in the distance). It was a pleasant change from the East Coast US where you can rarely be on the beach without seeing dozens of people at any given time. The caretaker and her family were very helpful and pleasant and keep the place beautiful and clean. We opted to have Patty cook a meal a day (either lunch or dinner) and every meal was delicious! I arrived stressed out from my IT job but after a week of daily surfing, daily yoga, and recharging at Casa Del Surfista I came home an absolutely relaxed man! One day I hope to return and with my family, they would also love the adventure!

                                        Beautiful house, great vacation.

My family (Husband, a 7 year old boy, Mom, Sister, Aunt, Uncle and cousins) went too celebrated Christmas at the house. The helpers Gustavo and Veronica were wonderful. Gustavo went beyond attending us and Veronica cooked us delicious meals. We enjoyed the house 100%, the view is just spectacular! The house is beautiful, very clean and maintained. The only think is the heater for the pool does not work, so we could not used the pool at night. (Acapulco has a beautiful weather all year long, just in December get cold at night). We went out to a restaurant one night, but there is not need to go anywhere! We definitely would rent the house again. Esther R. San Diego, CA
