IF YOU'RE COMING TO PACIFIC HARBOUR - STAY HERE!

5 of 5
When we arrived at Kul's house - we felt like we were home! So comfortable, so cozy, so lovely! From the beginning contact to Kul - it was easy! We became fast friends because he was so eager to help and happy to accommodate! (and we are STILL friends even 2 months after we have returned home!) Our children absolutely loved swimming in the pool everyday! It was clear and crisp and maintained perfectly! It might seem silly - but I loved being able to cook and wash clothes and iron clothes here! It's so different than staying in a hotel or resort. You get the feel that you actually live in Fiji - if just for a little while! :) Even when it was becoming humid outside, inside the home was cool and inviting! When the mosquitoes were beginning to hover outside - it was always a relief to know that the mosquito screens on the windows kept the house mosquito-free (unless the kids left the door open for a moment too long!) haha But fear not! Kul provided mosquito coils and repellants to use for pesky bugs that got inside too quickly! We even loved the coconuts that fell each day! Our daughter was delighted to try a fresh coconut that had fallen from the tree outside the front door! My husband and daughter (the daredevils) even were brave enough to try a chile growing on the bushes in the back yard! hahaha The flowers and lawn were kept so beautifully - it was lovely and lush and made us feel like we were in the heart of Fiji! The neighborhood is quiet and safe and absolutely beautiful! One night we walked 1 mile through the neighborhood at 10:00 at night. The moon was full, illuminating everything. What a special walk that was! In the day, it is the greenest green as far as the eyes can see with flowers decorating your entire view! The shops and restaurants were just a quick taxi ride away! We didn't have a car while we were there - we utilized the taxis and buses. So much fun! We traveled all over with the buses - at first we were intimidated - but they were just so easy to use! The locals are so sweet and friendly and quick to help you! If you go to the shops - stop by the Oasis restaurant for a snack and get the papadam with chutneys. chunks of roasted garlic and carrots - spicy and delicious!!!!!! And if you head to Navua - make sure you stop at the Hot Bread Kitchen for a cream bun! you won't be sorry! We can't wait to come back to your house, Kul! It is our second home! :) Thank you for everything! Joe, Leah & the kids! :)

WONDERFUL SHORT STAY, RECOMMENDED! :)

4 of 5
Hi there! I stayed at Maracuja for 5 nights in June 2014. I really enjoyed my stay. The views were excellent, there is a pool right down the steps which is lovely. A very lovely large patio as well, beautiful back yard! The villa is spacious and was clean when I moved in. There are actually three bedrooms, but I only needed one. Mario was very helpful with everything that I needed, and he was very generous with topping up the internet as I definitely used a lot of internet (downloading movies). I would definitely recommend the stay, as it is a very nice area and a decent price too! Thank you Mario for the wonderful stay, look forward to staying with you again. A few things to note, but not deter you from staying! 1. Taxi is by 4WD taxi only, 10 FJD to or from town. Get their numbers so that you can arrange pickup or drop off. 2. The villa Maracuja could use a little TLC on the wooden floors in the living room, several of the floor boards give when walking on them and are about to break. 3. Some of the lights dont work in villa Maracuja, or if they do I could not find a switch to turn them on. Labelling switches would be very useful for visitors. 4. More towels could be provided to the guests. Two towels at least. I asked Mario for towel and he provided. 5. There is no laundry in the villa. You have to arrange this with Mario. He picked up on Saturday and dropped off on Tuesday. Just so you are aware. Enjoy your stay. Savusavu is so beautiful, and the area where this rental property is located is absolutely stunning. Fiji people are very friendly and I will have pleasant memories from my stay. All the best to you.

RELAXING GETAWAY WITH AMAZING VIEWS AND EXCELLENT CUISINE

5 of 5
We were lucky enough to stay at the beautiful Makaira Resort on Taveuni, the garden isle (and our favorite isle) in Fiji. The owners, Roberta and John, were wonderfully gracious, generous, and knowledgeable of the island. They also told the most fantastic stories! John, being a skilled and seasoned fisherman and world-class chef, provided us nightly with the most delicious gourmet meals--the best meals we had in Fiji during our 5 week trip. Dinner was served in a dining bure overlooking the ocean, on the edge of a cliff with an amazing 180 degree view of the ocean. Their meals consisted of fresh fish caught by John and vegetables from Roberta's organic vegetable garden. This eco resort is beautifully landscaped with coconut trees, tropical plants and fragrant flowers. The landscape and position of bures offers lots of privacy, and the 180 degree ocean view offers beautiful opportunities to see both the sunrise and sunset. The bures are tastefully decorated with Polynesia art and handicrafts, have nice hot showers, and a porch with fantastic, unobstructed open views of the landscape and sea. Each bure also has its own cooking facilities--not that you would want to cook for yourself with such delicious meals available (breakfast and dinner). Makaira is a great location as it offers world class snorkeling right out front. Roberta is an incredibly kind, warm, friendly, knowledgeable host who took us snorkeling and "coral gardening". The resort also has a bus stop and airport nearby, and is in walking distance to stores and a farmers market. This heavenly place also offers amazing coconut oil massages and papaya/fruit body treatments, as well as hammocks overlooking the sea for relaxation. Last but not least, Makaira Resort employs very friendly, local staff (who are extended family to John and Roberta), who always greet you with a great big smile.
