                              Perfect, relaxing getaway

                              5 of 5
Heavensdoor is the perfect getaway location for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle associated with crowded resorts. We were a group of five (one couple, three singles) looking for an ideal base for our scuba diving holiday. Heavensdoor on the Coral Coast was well located for us to travel to Pacific Harbour for our planned shark diving as well as explore other attractions along the Coral Coast. Less than ten minutes from Sigatoka, the local markets provided a great option of purchasing fresh produce for self catering at Heavensdoor. By arrangement with Scott, firewood was supplied for the ‘rock BBQ’. Coming from the cold of southern Australia, cooking on an outdoor BBQ was perfect for enjoying the tropical warmth and panoramic views on offer at Heavensdoor. All of our party highly recommend the Fijian Feast that is available upon request (some notice is required as sourcing some items on the menu takes time). We had timed our holiday to take in my birthday and this Feast was the ideal spread to celebrate. Scott even organised a chocolate mud cake as part of the festive evening. Villa “Lomalagi” is spacious and very well furnished, giving a feel of homeliness and comfort. The balcony was the ideal location to relax with a drink or a book and soak up the ‘million dollar view’. For your morning exercise, simply wander down the driveway to the exclusive beachfront and explore the foreshore and reef. Many thanks to Scott, Christina and staff for allowing us to briefly experience their tropical island lifestyle in a truly amazing and breathtaking location. We’ll definitely return. Vinaka!

                              Best place in the World!

                              5 of 5
To think about The House of Bamboo only one word really comes to mind…WOW! The House of Bamboo was simply our very best stop on our extended journey and our favorite place in the world. We have traveled far and wide and nothing even comes close to the House of Bamboo. As we headed up the stairs we knew that we were in for a treat. The landscaping and flowers were literally falling on our heads, truly an amazing garden. Once we arrived at the top we were absolutely speechless. The place is far more grand and beautiful than I ever imagined. Brad picked us up from Savusavu airport and as we were driving through town he gave us the run down on where to go, what to see and where to buy provisions. We were in awe of his knowledge of the island. The information he provided us maximized our time and adventure! Basically our favorite thing was waking up, having a leisurely breakfast outside, either poolside or on the deck. Followed by wonderful snorkeling adventures, literally right out front! Then a soak in the pool, lunch, snorkel, dip in the pool, early dinner while watching the sunset (which is AMAZING) and then maybe a movie! At the House of Bamboo you do not need to leave… One thing I must add is that I have spent a good portion of my life in a kitchen, chopping, cutting, searing, broiling, etc.. You name it, I have probably cooked it to order a myriad of times. I MUST say that the kitchen is spectacular! All the tools you need for gourmet meals are there. I was extremely impressed, the kitchen was above and beyond my expectations and those are extremely high! Everything at the House of Bamboo is completely luxurious and completely spotless.. We will stay there again and we look forward to some day taking some children along with us! This is simply the best place and best value on the island. If you are planning a trip, I would not spend a bunch of time looking at all the options the island has to offer, I would not waste time comparing resorts. I did that and I am 100% convinced that booking the House of Bamboo is the best decision of your trip that you will make. We booked 4 days but should have booked 40. Do yourself a favor and stay here! Also, there is mention of the 100+ stairs up to the house. Piece of cake! I/We would easily climb 100,000 stairs to stay here, it is well worth it. Heck, we would climb 100,000 stairs to look out across the bay! This is simply the best decision you can make.
