This was our first family trip to Martha's Vineyard and this was a very convenient place to stay for access to all parts of the island and have a quiet, private setting. It was an ideal spot for us and setup within the house for the us (2 parents, 2 kids and 1 grandparent). As we drove up we were all thinking we had rented a beautiful fairy cottage. The home is quite spacious and the screen room and outdoor showers were definitely put to use. We loved the use of the restored wood throughout the house and the numerous windows to look out and let the night air in. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and pots/pans and made good use of them every day. We had beautiful weather during our stay there. I would highly recommend going to Lambert's Cove beach (about 2 miles behind the house) to watch the sunset at least once while you're there. If you go after 5:30pm it is open to the public and definitely worth the walk through the powder soft white sand and views of the Elizabeth islands. The yard around the house is quite nice as well. We were frequently greeting by nesting birds and rabbits when we returned from our outings or in the mornings. Some other recommendations for your stay at MV would be to visit the Lighthouses, especially at Edgartown and Aquinnah. (We didn't get to Chappaquiddick, but have that on our list for next time.) The carousel and gingerbread cottages in Oak Bluffs are worth a look-see. We didn't time all the activities just right, but there were opportunities right in/near West Tisbury to attend the farmers market, the antique sales, and a flea market. We went to Ally's General Store, which has a bunch of stuff available for sale, but it wasn't for us. We also went to Menemsha public beach, which was a very nice location for kids and looking for sea glass - the shore is quite rocky/pebbly, so it's a bit harder on the feet. Felix Neck Audubon was very nice hike, with all the paths to pick from and views available. And the kids enjoyed Giordano's pizza - rating it one of their all time favorites.
I recommend a trip to MV at least once in your life and this was a great place to come back to every day. Would absolutely go back!
