Comfy close to beaches quiet cottage...

5 of 5
I have vacationed at this cottage for several years and have found it perfect for us. It is off the beaten path, with plenty of privacy, yet minutes to the different towns and beaches. Long Point, our favorite, is about a mile to the gate and on one of the access roads. The cottage is an open plan in the living room and kitchen/dining. A wrap around deck entices you to eat outdoors and lounge on the deck. The kitchen is updated and had everything we needed- we are on a modest budget and tend to cook most meals at home during our vacation. There is always some air traffic during our stay- but we haven't found it bothersome as we are on the go seeing the sites and spending our days on the beach or biking on the many bike paths across the island. I have found the owner, Gail, to be always available and very responsive, considering our needs to be her priority and tending to our questions in a timely manner. In the beginning our cleaning fee was included in the lease, but returned to us as we left the cottage in great condition. Now it is no longer included in our lease. I would recommend that people consider staying here if you want an economical, comfortable, well-maintained home minutes from the local sites and villages.

A Perfect Getaway!

5 of 5
We just spent a lovely week here and can't say enough good things about this property and its owners. For starters, it's perfectly located. A short walk or drive in one direction and you're at Lambert's Cove, one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen - Caribbean included. Its calm, clear waters are perfect for children (and adults who don't enjoy getting pummeled by waves). A few minutes in the other direction and you're at a gorgeous, deep, unspoiled pond that's part of the Land Bank Preserve. Both places are treasures. As for the property itself, my husband and I joked that it should be on HGTV. Alice (the owner) made such great use of the space - there was a place for everything. There was ample closet and drawer space, comfy beds, and even a washing machine. Everything was spotless. Our family of 3 never felt cramped. The kitchen had all the tools you'd need to prepare simple meals (a single electric burner, toaster oven, microwave, coffeemaker, and a grill outside). There's no oven, but trust me - you're on vacation, you'll never miss it. Alice was a wonderful host. Because we booked a little late in the season, we had trouble getting ferry reservations. She was kind enough to work with us on arrival/departure dates to ensure our trip could happen. She also met us on arrival to give us the scoop on the week's events - things to do, places to eat, etc. We would have missed so many fun things without her advice. Now that we've fallen in love with Lambert's Cove and this sweet "treetop" property, my family agrees it would be hard to stay anywhere else on MV. We'll be back for sure!

A fantastic peaceful retreat!

5 of 5
The Moore's camp house is a real charmer. It is a pleasant reminder to slow down, watch the birds and take in the fresh air coming from the Atlantic ocean. Wild blueberries and cool well water are an added bonus! The Moore's camp house is so quiet and private. I love the outdoor shower as well. A great place for couples, families and friends. I highly recommend this camp house! It is hard to leave once you settle into the rhythm and relaxed settings. I look forward to returning every summer! Auna Salomé Santa Barbara, CA
