Terrific Views of the Harbor

4 of 5
This bright, sunny home is very well located off a quiet, private lane and overlooks the water from an elevated perch. Stunning views of West Falmouth Harbor from every window and fabulous sunsets provided a wonderful backdrop to our evening cocktails on the deck. Private stairs lead down to the beach below for an early morning walk or a gentle paddle on the harbor. There is a private beach just a short walk away, either along the shore below the house or down a quiet lane. Area beaches can be quite busy in the summer so having access to the association beach is a real plus. The nearby Shining Sea bikepath runs more than 10 miles from North Falmouth to Woods Hole, passing much scenic conservation land along the way. For those who like to hike, there is the Bourne Farm in West Falmouth, Beebee Woods in Falmouth, the Knob in Woods Hole and the Audubon Ashumet Holly Wildlife Sanctuary out towards Mashpee, all a short drive away. This is a comfortable and very well situated home.

A Very Special Place!

5 of 5
Private and pristine, this new but very classic Cape Cod home is warm and inviting. Spotless, the home is beautifully decorated in blues, pale greens and grey that give the home a calm and relaxed feel. Thoughtfully designed with a family in mind, this special home is appointed with high end appliances in a fabulous kitchen and luxurious beds and baths that we all enjoyed. Our teenagers particularly were impressed with the home theatre, while we were spoiled by the screened in porch overlooking the deck and garden during some rainy weather. Perfect! The property has a very flat and spacious lawn for a football or soccer game. At the end of the driveway, turn left and 100 yard away is the bike path with unbelievable water views and displays of spectacular colors of the cranberry bogs in the fall. A very short walk away, along the picturesque harbor, is the beach. In very close proximity, is West Falmouth village which is quaint and friendly. We visited the West Falmouth Market everyday for muffins! In all, this was a delightful experience and the owners were very accommodating to our last minute plans and helped us with restaurant suggestions. We hope to be back, soon, for a longer stay!!

West Falmouth Vacation Paradise

5 of 5
What a wonderful week we had on Chapaquoit Island...we already miss the "Playhouse" terribly. The home is just adorable. A true cottage feel yet at the same time, there is room to breath. The beatiful main room has wonderful vaulted ceilings with exposed beams - a very comfortable living room area and dining area - adorned with lovely furnishings. The galley kitchen was terrific. Filled with everything you need and fun to cook in. The bedrooms were super comfortable and very pretty. I must also say that the rooms were very quiet. I never heard my kids in the morning when they were playing in their bedroom! A very wel built home. The deck was delightful to sit out and have dinner on or just relax and read. The views of the property from the deck are breathtaking. The grounds are stunning. Beautful landscaping, a fabulous hammock for reading and napping and I must not forget the epic swing out of a fairy tale. My 10 and 7 year old LOVED the swing. We did not use the fire pit - but it looked awesome. We enjoyed playing tennis a couple times - what a bonus! Fishing and swimming off the big pier was a blast. Swimming and catching hermit crabs on little pier beach at low tide was so nice - especially since you walk for 1 minute and there you are! But, our favorite beach experience was the private end of Chapaquoit Beach - soft sand, great sand bars for water/wave fun and beautful views and just the privacy...loved it. I enjoyed power walks around the peninsula, as well as walks after dinner, and I also wanted to comment that the other neighbors on Chapaquoit Island were incredibly friendly - always saying hello and asking if we are enjoying the island - just so nice. We cannot wait to return to this hidden gem. Hasty, the owner - was wonderful to deal with and we are so glad we found this property via homeaway.com. Thanks so much, Hasty, we just love your home and cannot wait to return in the future!
