Location! Location! Location!

5 of 5
Being from Minnesota, we wanted a place close to the water to watch an authentic Nor'Easter coming in. Bingo! Any closer and we would have been soaked the entire time. Yet, our cottage was so well constructed that, unless you looked out the window, you'd hardly know a storm was outside. The storm was exciting and the aftermath was thrilling. Literally hundreds, perhaps thousands, of northern gannets, shearwaters, eiders, and other marine birds flocking past our window during the day and the lovely lights of Provincetown and the cape lighthouses at night. Although most of the area is developed, the cottage is situated near a huge, high dune running away to the south so you really have a sense of privacy and natural environment. We found the cabin itself to be perfect and perfectly outfitted with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Small yes, but cozy and a real feeling of being outside while in. The windows facing west and south were endlessly entertaining. The location was not only perfect for watching birds and harbor seals, but we really enjoyed the proximity to Provincetown more than expected. What a fun place to visit, even in the off-season. And of course the few minutes drive up to Race Point to watch the waves after the storm will always be a highlight of our trip. All in all, a great stay. If you can do better for the price, you are doing really, really well. One last note. We came to Cape Cod without having set up anything in advance. We are grateful that the owners were so quick and diligent in answering our requests and getting things set up. The people you work often make or break your vacation. Thanks, Liz, for everything.

Sister Birthday Weekend

5 of 5
This home is eclectic, modern, funky, and charming. There are nooks and crannies for privacy and solitude, there is plenty of common space, and the beds are cozy and comfortable. The beach views (particularly at sunset!!) are magnificent. We held a special weekend away for my sister's 50th birthday, and it was everything we could have wished for...We had so much fun sampling the vodkas at Mews (thanks waiter Neil...) and really appreciated the suggestion to cab it because of the downtown parking hassle. Loved your suggestion for the Dune Tour, too! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us Michael and Ross. We are already planning a trip back!

Perfect Cape Cottage

5 of 5
The House: There's so much more space inside than I thought. Three bedrooms upstairs: one is grand with en suite bathroom, one is quite large, and one is perfectly normal sized, and one beautiful bedroom downstairs. The washer / dryer were new and so helpful for multiple families with kids. The outdoor shower is beautifully made and luxurious. The house really met all our needs. Tastefully decorated, fully stocked, the wireless worked well, etc. Area: The house is one house back from the beach, but at high tide, the water was only 15 feet away. The geography of the place is a bit wild. You're way out on this narrow stretch of the Cape right before the end: ie. no trees, lots of roaring wind, which I found completely charming. You're on the bay side, so perfect for long walks at low tide, and sea shell gathering and critter finding (lots of hermit crabs, snails, etc.). It was really convenient to Provincetown - could bike ride there - which took some pressure off our family, since small groups could jaunt off easily without too much hassle or fuss. Luisa was a great host, very responsive and thoughtful. I would recommend Wayside to anyone looking for a real Cape experience.
