My parents, husband, and two children (ages 2 and 7) stayed here for a week in mid-August for our annual family vacation. My mother was in charge of the lease. Kim's home was spotless and even toiletries were provided in each bathroom. The kitchen was well-stocked with every imagineable utensil. We ate our meals outside on the porch overlooking the lake nearly everyday. There was plenty of room for us to spread out and the girls enjoyed the downstairs rec room area for playing games/ dolls after swimming. The swimming area is sandy bottom and the owners keep it weed free (which I greatly appreciated). We all had fun jumping off the swim platform and floating on the many water toys the owners include in the rental. Lots of bluegills to catch off the dock. We caught several large bass in the canoe further down the Reservoir. Charlton Reservoir allows powerboats and is famous for waterskiing but the noise did not bother us. The neighbors are friendly. We also appreciated the air conditioners on a few steamy August nights. There is a lush lawn to play on and even a chimney to roast marshmallows. Overall it was a great way to finish the summer with my family before heading back to my classroom! Our only con is that we could not access the private boat launch (for property owners) to launch our own boat. We had to use the cottage's canoe to fish.

Our experience was much like the others listed here. We spent a week leading up to Labor Day, 2011. The house is comfortable, the view is beautiful and relaxing, with an assortment of birds. Everything was accessible. The owners were very nice and helpful. The water is just out the back. Sturbridge is close by and Old Sturbridge Village is a fun place to visit and learn a little history. We enjoyed the pedal boat and I made a first attempt at using the Kayak. It's a quiet, private place. I should warn you that the land line phone is not connected, so you will need your cell phone. I had good reception (Verizon) and it was not a problem.
