A Bit of Paradise!

5 of 5
This home is set in a peaceful wooded area--my dog and I just loved it (there's a dog run too, in the property's sunniest spot!). I relished having morning coffee in the screened porch or warm window seat with a view. The surrounding area also has amazing natural parks for picnicking and hiking, close to ocean, too. Every day brought something new to see, including a fabulous local winery in Westport that makes amazing sparkling wine--who knew?! And Lee's market with its homemade deli hit the spot too. The homeowner could not have been more gracious, leaving the house spotless, with a complimentary lasagna meal, and generously offering use of her CD collection. Everything I needed to truly feel at home. There's a nasty review on this site by some people who must not have known they were renting a real home in the country; I can't imagine what they didn't like about it--if you are seeking a low-key, relaxing retreat (without the hassles of the Cape!) then you will love it. I will definitely go back, especially since there's so much of the countryside I did NOT get to explore this time.
