Our two weeks spent in Parker Cottage were pure relaxation! The weather was cool and breezy some days and warm enough to swim on some days, and it only rained a couple of nights. The cottage is Cape-Cod-charming and comfortable...exactly as we imagined a beach house should be. It felt so cozy, yet spacious and we were right at home. The TV downstairs has its own seating area and is away from the central living space - out of sight, out of mind, which we loved. The beach got all of the attention it deserved! The beds were comfortable, the towels, linens and quilts were perfect, and the kitchen was very well appointed, which we appreciated because once we were there, we never wanted to leave! We walked the sand bar and the beach several times a day, picking up sand dollars and spotting sea stars and hermit crabs. Sitting up on the mini-deck with our cocktails was a favorite activity, and the sunsets and moonrises were magnificent. At high tide, we enjoyed seeing the boats and barges entering the canal, and a cruise ship went through one evening that was quite a sight! The beach had soft sand and some rocky areas to cross to get to the lovely sand bar. There was a cleared path in the rocks that stayed pretty clear during the time we were there. Off-season visitors should be sure to call ahead to restaurants, as many places reduce their hours in September. We were so glad to have booked two weeks! We were pretty relaxed after the first week, but by the second week the cottage and location had really worked some magic on us! Shannon was so accommodating and helpful. We can't wait to get back again.
