We stayed at Lost Oak cottage for two weeks this summer. We returned because of its many special features. What's unique is that it was historically the station master's home, hence its location at the very start of the scenic Cape Cod Rail (bike) Trail via a short path through the woods. It is also a few minutes from our favorite beach, Marconi Beach, which in my opinion is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and has good waves for surfers. It is also in easy walking distance of a general store, package store, the wonderful Blue Willow bakery and the French bakery and bistro, which is unusual for Cape Cod, and is very convenient. The rooftop deck is a special treat, with beautiful views of the marsh and the birds. It's a great place to tan or enjoy a meal or a drink. This house has a lovely and spacious master bedroom with a walk in closet and a door to the deck. There is also a screened porch. The house provides very pleasant and attractive furnishings, while at the same time being a comfortable house for children and young people. The basement room with the four beds (two twins and a set of bunk beds) is great for teens and twenty somethings because there is also a separate sitting area, TV, table and chairs, and full bathroom on that level, so they can have a private "apartment." The owners are exceptionally helpful and friendly, and have thoughtfully provided many amenities. It is also cool that the cottage runs on solar power.
