Delightful stay in Provincetown

5 of 5
Our week-long stay in one of the Studio Cottages at Hideaway Hill was perfect in every way. Jonathan and Camille are wonderful hosts - nearby, attentive and responsive, and yet our cottage was quiet and private. The studio was spotless, airy and stocked with just the right necessities (electric tea kettle for instance) but uncluttered. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the reading lamps on both sides. The picture window facing the trees was a lovely spot for breakfast and card playing, and the deck added an outdoor space in which to relax as well. There's an overhang outside the cottage which allowed us to keep our bikes at hand and out of the reach of rain. The cottage is both cozy and spacious - really well cared for and thoughtfully arranged. The location, on the East end, was ideal for us—an easy bike ride or walk into town and yet a quiet retreat. We enjoyed riding our bikes around town and on the trails through the dunes and to the beaches. The art galleries in town are active - several openings on Friday and lots of engaging owners and assistants. Suzanne's garden is a peaceful and beautiful spot and, although we did not spend time there, the beach near the cottage it is lovely as well. Our cottage at HideAwayHill is a gem and we are grateful for the our excellent hosts, Jonathan and Camille. We will surely return.

Everything we wanted in a vacation!

5 of 5
Everything we wanted in a vacation wrapped up in Sol Y Mar! Well, sadly our wonderful week has come to an end. Everyone agreed that yours is the best place we have ever rented. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! The views from the living room and decks are amazing! We ate almost every meal out at the picnic table on the upper deck, so that we could take in the magnificent ocean view, and hear the waves. The walk to the beach is short, and includes a long stairway, and therefore we never needed a car. The beautiful beach is expansive and clean, with a good surf most of the time. The cottage is gorgeous, with all the amenities we needed, and the beds were so comfortable, we slept better than we do at home. We would rent again in September if there were a week available. 7/27/14 —Donna P on 07/27/2014

It's all about the front porch!

5 of 5
My wife and I have a close group of friends that we have been traveling with for the past 12 years. We have rented private homes from coast to coast in places like Tahoe, Jackson Hole, Telluride, and Whistler. We unanimously decided that this house was one of our favorites. A summer vacation in Oak Bluffs is all about the front porch and this home has a great one. It has plenty of space to line up the chairs along the front rail so everyone can kick back and relax during the hottest times of the day. But, it also has a large open area to the side with a comfortable outdoor dining table that is perfect for building a puzzle with your morning coffee or playing cards if it decides to rain. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious with new and easy-opening windows to allow the breeze to flow through on a warm day (last season the windows of our rental were all painted shut). The kitchen is nicely laid out with a second full size refrigerator in an adjoining pantry space (a very welcome addition for large groups) and the indoor dining room comfortably seats 10 people. As much as we loved the house we were even happier with the location. You can see the beach from the front porch which is only a 2 minute walk away. You are also an easy 5 minute walk to either the ferry or downtown Oak Bluffs where you have many options for dining, shopping, supplies, or just a morning latte and bagel. The only downside is that our group is now second guessing our plans to go to Italy next summer instead of the Vineyard because we had such a great time. But that is a good thing isn't it?
