Great visit - clean, quiet and

5 of 5
Felt like we had a private getaway in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood on a bitter cold and snowy weekend in Feb, which was exactly what we were looking for. House is well maintained with renovated bedrooms/bathrooms. Driveway and walk to front door were plowed before arrival and after a snowy night while on a day trip to MassMoca. Good proximity to cross country skiing (Cadbury Farms) and quality dining (Prairie Whale in Great Barrington and Haven Cafe in Lenox were standouts). And when the snow started to fall, we got the wood burning stove going, pour some drinks and lounged and read. We'll be back!

a perfect weekend

5 of 5
What an absolutely picture perfect getaway! In the middle of a snow covered Narnia-esque scene, lies this charming, warm, and inviting cabin. You instantly have that fresh winter cabin smell upon entering. Everything was so comfortable, from the couches, to the queen sized beds. And the fact we were able to dim the lights created a soft, pleasant dinner atmosphere. The skylights in the bedrooms allowed for a beautiful night sky and lots of light in the day time. Plenty of hot water for 4 people to shower. An abundance of towels, linens and blankets. The heat kicks on fast and warms the entire house, but the downstairs bathroom could use a door to seal off the draft from the laundry room. However, they provided 2 extra electric portable heaters just in case, which worked great. Wine by a crackling fireplace made for an enchanting, romantic evening after a very cold and snow-filled day. We spent hours curled up under one of the many soft blankets provided, with only the fire and candles giving off light. The perfect end to an exciting and adventurous weekend! The lake is only steps away, and breathtaking in the winter. We walked across since it was solid ice! Thank you for the experience! We WILL be coming back again and can’t wait to see it during the warmer months!

Tucked away Sanctuary

5 of 5
Absolutely Perfect! This sweet cottage is quaint yet quite accommodating with plenty of amenities and activities for everyone. No need to bring anything except your clothes, spirit and food. Upon arrival, the coffee was set, soft music was playing and candles were lit. I found this to be a nice little added touch. We immediately brewed our coffee and took a walk to the lake, which is a stones throw away , and enjoyed the natural beauty and crisp fresh air while sipping coffee and taking it all in. If your looking to be rejuvenated, then this is the place for you. Scott is such a good host and clearly takes pride in making his cottage feel warm and inviting to his guest. He is reasonably priced, accommodating and available by phone if you have any questions.
